SLEEK AND SMOOTH
The first rule for creating a beautiful high-shine finish is to ensure hair is clean and conditioned, so I started off by shampooing and
conditioning the hair, combing the conditioner through to smooth the cuticle. After rinsing the hair, I applied some blow-dry lotion
and blow-dried the hair using a paddle brush. I then used a comb to get the hair as flat as possible, before applying a little serum to
add a lovely gloss. I love straight, sleek styles like this and the finish is so important. This whole look lends itself to a great image.
LOVING LIGHT
The look is all about creating a beautiful finish with smoothness, which means a perfect blow-dry. One key element is to choose a
model with good, heathy looking hair. Generally darker, warmer colours tend to attract the light better. Also important are the right
products to control and smooth the hair. The smoother the hair the better the shine. If hair is curly it can sometimes loose the shine.
I finished this with a very light oil, which doesn’t make the hair heavy and can be applied very evenly, so no patches that will show on
the image. I used just a little hairspray for hold. It’s important not to go over the top with hairspray and make the hair look plastic,
where it is so over shiny that it doesn’t look like hair.
