Nevertheless, Ackema (1995: 108) concludes: ―N-V <strong>compounding</strong> may be productive in Dutch,<br />

but it is hard to establish this with certainty. Due to the separability <strong>of</strong> most verbal compounds in<br />

Dutch they are hard to distinguish from syntactic phrases‖.<br />
