THE <strong>KACHEN</strong> KITCHEN!<br />

In this space we present beautiful, unusual, and original kitchens that we have found throughout the country. We didn't have to search far<br />

this time, however, as we want to proudly introduce you to our very own new kitchen at <strong>KACHEN</strong> headquarters!<br />

As you may remember from the last issue, the <strong>KACHEN</strong> editorial<br />

team recently moved to new offices which came with an attractive,<br />

spacious and practical kitchen. The dream of having our own<br />

kitchen studio with all the bells and whistles was fulfilled by our<br />

partners KÜCHENGALERIE, SCHMIDT, AEG, and KITCHENAID,<br />

and we're now going ahead full speed in planning the first workshops<br />

and cookery courses in the new kitchen. More on those later.<br />

We wanted our kitchen to be functional with lots of prep space, but<br />

also space for photographing and filming. We've already made a first<br />

video series with recipes, and the kitchen has survived its "trial by fire",<br />

so to speak!<br />

IT COMES DOWN TO EQUIPMENT<br />

The kitchen cabinets from KÜCHENGALERIE and SCHMIDT are<br />

in simple white, while the counters and tables were selected in wood,<br />

being a perfect background for photography. If the cabinets are rather<br />

minimalistic, the electric appliances are in a class of their own, and will<br />

undoubtedly thrill any professional chef.<br />

The SteamPro oven has several functions – convection, steam, a<br />

combination of both as well as the sous-vide process for particularly<br />

gentle cooking in a vacuum..<br />

The compact microwave oven allows for every dish to be cooked,<br />

roasted, grilled, warmed, or thawed at the same high level.<br />

The nearly invisible extractor fan, which pulls air from the ceiling over<br />

the kitchen island, not only clears the kitchen air but provides a wide<br />

open space. Moreover, the hood is automatically controlled thanks to<br />

the unique integrated Hob2Hood function, and shuts itself off after<br />

cooking is finished.<br />

The AEG induction hob makes for an instance and precise temperature<br />

adjustments, from simmering to high heat. Heat is applied only to the<br />
