ROTATIONS AVAILABLE<br />

Core: General Medicine, General Surgery,<br />

Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine<br />

Non-core: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics<br />

Rotations are offered on a line system. Three 10-<br />

week rotations, a 15-week rotation and 5 weeks leave.<br />

Generally, interns are allocated their first or second<br />

line-preference. But, we can be flexible to meet<br />

specific needs i.e. weddings.<br />

BASIC INFORMATION<br />

Hervey Bay Hospital is a 160 bed facility providing<br />

medical staff with broad clinical exposure, handson<br />

experience and great access to procedural skills.<br />

Interns have direct contact with senior clinicians and<br />

active involvement in patient care, as well as innovative<br />

opportunities for clinical audits and research.<br />

The Fraser Coast is an easy place to live. Not only is<br />

the climate mild, but no traffic woes means for most<br />

doctors an easy 10 minute drive to work with plenty of<br />

free parking in the hospital grounds.<br />

$3000, plus airfares<br />

ROTATIONS AVAILABLE<br />

The <strong>Internship</strong> year consists of five terms of 10–12<br />

weeks, including three core rotations and two noncore<br />

rotations:<br />

The region has a lot of natural beauty and is also a<br />

comparatively short drive to the Sunshine Coast and<br />

Brisbane.<br />

Rostering:<br />

• MOCA 4 compliant rostering that is managed by<br />

the Medical Education Unit.<br />

• Roster requests are taken into consideration when<br />

completing term rosters.<br />

• Annual Leave is allocated in 5 week blocks, with<br />

reference to individual preferences.<br />

• 10 days’ sick leave per year.
