ROTATIONS AVAILABLE
Core: General Medicine, General Surgery,
Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine
Non-core: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics
Rotations are offered on a line system. Three 10-
week rotations, a 15-week rotation and 5 weeks leave.
Generally, interns are allocated their first or second
line-preference. But, we can be flexible to meet
specific needs i.e. weddings.
BASIC INFORMATION
Hervey Bay Hospital is a 160 bed facility providing
medical staff with broad clinical exposure, handson
experience and great access to procedural skills.
Interns have direct contact with senior clinicians and
active involvement in patient care, as well as innovative
opportunities for clinical audits and research.
The Fraser Coast is an easy place to live. Not only is
the climate mild, but no traffic woes means for most
doctors an easy 10 minute drive to work with plenty of
free parking in the hospital grounds.
$3000, plus airfares
• 2-year contract with rotation plans to suit everyone

ROTATIONS AVAILABLE
The Internship year consists of five terms of 10–12
weeks, including three core rotations and two noncore
rotations:
The region has a lot of natural beauty and is also a
comparatively short drive to the Sunshine Coast and
Brisbane.

Rostering:
• MOCA 4 compliant rostering that is managed by
the Medical Education Unit.
• Roster requests are taken into consideration when
completing term rosters.
• Annual Leave is allocated in 5 week blocks, with
reference to individual preferences.
• 10 days’ sick leave per year.
