BASIC INFORMATION<br />

Feedback from previous interns has shown that the<br />

intern year at both LMH and Modbury Hospital has<br />

been a positive one, with interns obtaining rotation<br />

preferences that meet their career direction and that<br />

enable them to obtain general registration.<br />

Lyell McEwin is a 550-bed teaching hospital serving<br />

South Australia’s northern suburbs’ population,<br />

approximately 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.<br />

It is recognised as a leading teaching institution for<br />

healthcare professionals. Modbury is a 200 bed general<br />

hospital approximately 20 minutes northeast of<br />

Adelaide, providing services to its local community with<br />

an emphasis on general medicine and general surgery,<br />

plus a specific focus on aged care, rehabilitation, and<br />

palliative care services.
