PERFORMANCE INDICATORS<br />

Outcome:<br />

“A community that is informed of, and has access to, a diverse range of innovative ideas,<br />

knowledge and cultural experiences.”<br />

Funds for the <strong>Western</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> are included in the Budget Statements under the<br />

Outcome for the Department of Culture and the Arts. <strong>The</strong>se funds are allocated to the<br />

Department’s Output 3, which is reported against with the following indicators.<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Western</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Museum</strong> contributes to this Outcome through the deliver and promotion<br />

of museum services through collection development and management, research, education<br />

and visitor services.<br />

KEY INDICATORS<br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Museum</strong>’s role is to implement the department’s outcome by providing information and<br />

enjoyment to the community at large through contact with the natural and cultural heritage of<br />

<strong>Western</strong> Australia.<br />

This indicator represents the number of visitors to the exhibitions and displays presented by the<br />

<strong>Museum</strong>, and the number of new exhibitions and displays completed on natural and cultural<br />

heritage.<br />

RELEVANCE<br />

Visitation by the public reflects the attractiveness of the <strong>Museum</strong>’s exhibitions and displays to<br />

the community in terms of enjoyment and educational value.<br />
