I teach Dramaand Art at secondary level at HIS and moved here inJuly from Vienna, Austria. It’s very fulfilling and the kidsare great with an extraordinary strength and resilienceabout them since being back at school after theoutbreak. Binjiang is a lovely place to live with a villagefeel about it. People are super friendly and welcoming.For us, we’ll actually be onour summer holiday sowe might visit somewhereoutside of Hangzhou-Anji or Moganshanare on my mind!LA Cafe in Binjiang. It’s myhome from home. And MrBeer- well, we haven’t actuallybeen there yet, but we saw itduring the lockdown period,and it looked awesome! Anice beer in a beautiful place!I was traveling the world back in 2006 and wasliving in Thailand when I ran out of money! Mybrother and I are best mates and he'd lived inHangzhou for a while. He invited me over fora few months to work and make some moremoney for my travels and I fell in love with theplace and the people. That was 14 years ago!I'm a painter so my time ispretty much own anyway, butI'd usually try and get out in thesunshine. This year I'll probablyhave a walk around Yang Gong Dion the west side of the lake.I love the walks around the south westof the city so places like the 4 Eyed Wellon Hupao Road and Manjuelong Road,Meijiawu Longjing Tea Village or thegorgeous Nine Creeks which is about 1hour's walk from the Longjin Tea Village.Because of work, my family moved toHangzhou when I was young, I didn'treally want to move here at thetime, but as I am a skateboard lover,I soon made lots of friends whileskateboarding, so I gradually cameto enjoy this city more and more.The Dragon Boat festival is animportant festival for family in China.It's a tradition that we should eatZongzi on that day. Unlike someother families, the food in my home isnot so heavy as we believe it's morehealthy, but on this day we will alsoprepare a lot of food for the family.The secret spot I recommend is theskateboard park near Hubin Intime mall. Ihave installed some skateboard facilitiesthere, as it's near West Lake, so sometimeswhen our friends were skateboardingthere, lots of people are attracted towatch them.
