Road in West Melton, the aptly named<br />

Market@254 has been running for nearly<br />

two years now.<br />

A relaxed farmers market, it focuses on<br />

providing a laid-back, family-friendly and<br />

pet- friendly atmosphere, rain or shine,<br />

with live music setting the tone for the<br />

duration of the market – 9.30am to 1pm.<br />

Tables and chairs are provided for marketgoers<br />

to sit down and catch up with friends.<br />

There is a wide range of stalls offering a<br />

tempting selection of products including<br />

fresh meat from Darfield Village Meats,<br />

fresh organic vegetables, fresh flowers,<br />

fresh local honey and succulent salmon<br />

from Salmon Heaven.<br />

You will also find children’s knitted<br />

clothing, toys, games, handmade cushion<br />

covers, wheat bags, succulents, pot plants,<br />

second-hand clothing, dog clothes and<br />

accessories, a dog wash, a fundraising stall<br />

for miniature show jumping, eco-friendly<br />

products, and much more.<br />

Market shopping can build up an<br />

appetite, and to satisfy this this there is hot<br />

coffee, hot big breakfasts, bacon-egg-hash<br />

brown sandwiches, American hot dogs,<br />

whitebait patties (seasonal), milkshakes and<br />

homemade sweet treats.<br />

Market @254 is a not-for-profit<br />

enterprise. The majority of the stalls are run<br />

by local people and adding to the variety`<br />

there are some extra stalls that are there<br />

every now and again.<br />

On Saturday, <strong>June</strong> 20 Market@254 is<br />

holding its first car boot sale. The cost is<br />

$<strong>10</strong> per car with the first 80 to apply being<br />

allocated a spot.<br />

New stall holders are also welcome. The<br />

cost is $20 per week for a stall.<br />
