By far, the biggest impact on our industry and
our nation over the past year was the COVID-19
pandemic. From a near total shutdown of our
region’s ethanol industry and major impacts to
food processing plants and agricultural supply
chains to causing unprecedented unemployment
levels, the pandemic’s effects were broad
reaching and the full extent of its impacts have
not yet been realized.

In this annual report, we have provided a recap of
the pandemic’s impacts to our industry as well as
details of how our cooperative network relied on
our shared resources to make it through. While
the pandemic brought immense struggles—both
on micro and macro levels—it also showcased the
strength of the cooperative business model and
the resilience of our cooperative family. Member
