Welcome to our

November Issue!

It’s such a shame that so

many of the events that we

enjoy at this time of year are

being cancelled due to COVID

restrictions.

Usually our community pages would

be brimming with information about

upcoming events such as Remembrance

Sunday, the Norden Xmas Light Switch

on and the Friends of Bamford Annual

Carol Singing around the tree.

These are very unusual times but on a

positive note, the British spirit remains

ever strong and we look forward to

hopefully more events next year which will

be even bigger and better!

We certainly look forward to seeing you

all at our mulled wine and mince pie

stall, which over the years has become

something of a tradition and a wonderful

opportunity for us to meet so many of

those residents who enjoy receiving their

copy of Streetwise each month.

You may remember Brian Clegg’s article

on the recollections of Bamford and

Its Heritage – Part 1 which featured in

our April issue. This month Brian gives

us another wonderful journey through

Bamford again accompanied by some

fascinating photos, not to be missed!

Until next month...

LK

HYPNOTHERAPY AND HYPNOBIRTHING SPECIALIST

WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that has been used for centuries and popular in the present

day. It uses the power of suggestion to encourage positive change and can be used for many

different things including quitting a habit, managing and controlling weight as well as

controlling pain, insomnia, anxiety, stress, phobias, emotional trauma, depression and fertility.

WHAT IS HYPNOBIRTHING?

Hypnobirthing is a method of pain management that can be used during labour and birth.

Over four sessions I work with the expectant Mum and her partner using a mixture of

visualisation, mindfulness and breathing techniques which help to focus the body and mind on

the ultimate birth of the baby. I can also help with any morning sickness, headaches,

self-esteem, and healthy eating. My services also include a free hypnobirthing book for you to

read and practice at home. I will also share some previous client’s hypnobirthing journeys with

you as it always helps to hear about other people’s experiences.

I also work with parents struggling with all the new feelings of becoming a parent from

post-natal depression, anxiety or just to help you relax when you have the time!

CHRIS CLARKSON MP

Serving the people of Heywood & Middleton Constituency

including, Bamford, Castleton & Norden

This month I have been meeting people in the constituency

and seeing some of the practical things that businesses

are doing to make a strong recovery. I visited the Market in

Heywood where they have seen a number of local people

taking on new stalls to grow existing businesses or start

something new. This is a great hub for enterprising people and when I mentioned the

market in the House I got a firm commitment to continued Government support.

I have been in touch with every school in the constituency this month. With lots for staff and

teachers to deal with it has been an extremely busy time, so I wanted to offer my support.

Many schools were concerned about the reinstatement of Ofsted inspections at a time when

fair assessment would be almost impossible, so I have written in support of staff and

students asking for inspections to be kept on hold until a more appropriate time.

I have co-signed a new bill that seeks to give more protection to our listed and heritage

buildings. I know that there are many in this area which will benefit from added protection

and that they mean a lot to local people.

I took part in my first visit as part of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, a opportunity

designed to give MPs a better understanding of the armed forces so that we can represent

our service men and women better. I am looking forward to more visits in coming months.

I visited Hopwood Hall College where I met students who are training in a wide range of

disciplines from electrical installation and engineering to animal care and horticulture. We

also discussed how they will use new Government funding to open up courses to even more

people to retrain or enhance their skills.

As ever my office remains open to anyone

who needs my help, so if there is anything

that I can do for you please don’t hesitate

to call or email - I am here to help.

Andy P Collins Wealth Management Limited

Goals ! – Yes Goals

are back and that’s

great for me being

a football fan.

But then in Financial

Planning – Goals never

went away.

I believe in Goals based

Financial Planning and

recognise that everybody’s financial journey is

different, that is why our approach to financial and

investment planning is based on your individual

goals.

Plan : A clear plan is key in helping you establish

and meet your future Goals.

Design : Designing an investment portfolio that

considers your time horizon, your attitude to risk

and your capacity for risk

Review : Monitoring progress and helping you stay

on track through changing market and personal

conditions

So, whether your goals are Investment Based,

Retirement / Succession planning / School fees

or Major event planning - establishing them

is critical. I can then assess resources and

implement advice.

I help individuals, business owners and

Directors make better financial decisions.

I can’t change the events that shape your future,

however, I can ensure that you’re prepared with a

bespoke plan, and your resources are employed

focused on desired Goals. As part of my

understanding you as an individual or a business,

I review existing plans to ensure they are fit for

purpose, and your current wealth is protected,

should any changes not be one you had planned.

So, if you don’t have a plan or just wish to check

that what you have in place is working with you

towards your Goal, then Just Ask!

business leader with a demonstrated history of

success at board level. His thirty plus years of

Financial services experience has enabled him to

draw on a wealth of knowledge and skills.

During that time, he has held Head of sales,

Director and Senior management roles with some

of the UK’s leading institutions.

Passionate about Financial Planning and Wealth

Management, in 2018 he accepted an invitation

to join the prestigious St. James’s Place Wealth

Management as an Associate Partner Practice

grown, and now has the capacity to take on more

new clients with office locations in Rochdale and

Leeds. I offer a truly holistic service to existing

and new clients and have access to the

St. James’s Place distinctive approach to

investment management and advice guarantee.

I am locally based and offer planning in the

following areas:

• Preparing for retirement and in-retirement advice

• Investment planning

• Pension planning

• Protection for you and your family

• Inheritance tax and Inter-generational planning

• Investment planning for children/grandchildren

• Protection for self-employed, company directors

and key people

• Aspects of tax efficient business exit strategies.

The value of an investment with St. James’s Place

may fall as well as rise. You may get back less

than the amount invested.

Chippendale Hearing Services

A SAFE, LOCAL, PROFESSIONAL, QUALITY SERVICE

NO NEED TO RUSH

We are all being asked to wear face coverings. Face coverings can impair

parts of general communication by reducing facial expressions and some

sound outputs.

However, for those wearing On the Ear and Behind the Ear Hearing Aids there is an

added challenge - the face mask loops add another item, along with glasses and

hearing aids, to sit behind the ear! Oops - a possible tangle problem and the hearing aids

can be knocked out!

BASIC GUIDELINES ARE

• No need to rush when either placing or removing your mask.

• Remove and place one side at a time and then check each

Hearing Aid is still in position and safe.

• If the loops are a major problem, then consider using tie straps or

strap extenders rather than the ear loops being behind your ears.

• From time to time check the aids are still in position - avoid the

expense of having to replace.

Keep safe and remember to smile as your eyes and face still show the

expression even when wearing a mask.

Pat & Sandra

We are delighted to still offer our team services for new and

repeat hearing tests, latest hearing aids, noise protection moulds,

batteries and accessory gifts.

Telephone or Email to book an appointment.

This may include video otoscopy and telephone consultations

for both hearing advice and tinnitus management.

When Face to Face appointments are arranged the

times must be strictly observed and we will be following

the latest professional guidelines to keep us all safe.

PPE will be required or can be provided.

I will be running as many services

as I need to ensure people can

come and pray for their loved

Please have a candle ready

The Co-op in

Norden welcomes a

new Store Manager

My name is Rebecca Jones and I am the

new Store Manager at the Co-op Store

in Norden Village.

I have worked for the Co-op for just over 4 months

and am immensely proud of the company’s

principles and commitment to cooperation to

create a more fair and just society.

I am really keen to get to know as many local

residents, business, schools, churches, care

homes and community groups as is possible

and to work with you all for the wider benefit

of the Village. In the past few months I have

already made links with NEEVA and Rochdale

in Bloom and can see the level of care and

passion those volunteers have in order to make

Norden Village a truly lovely location to live,

work, learn and socialise. Many of you will have

seen the fundraiser we held back in August for

our National Charity partner, Mind. Thank you to

those of you who came along and supported our

efforts on the day.

I am keen for the Co-op to get involved in and

support all initiatives and events that are taking

place locally and also have a room above the

store that I would like to make available to

community groups (when Covid restrictions

allow).

Please do come in and say hello and let me

know if there are events taking place that you

are involved in which the Norden store could

support.

I look forward to establishing some fantastic

relationships and helping to make a difference to

the local community wherever I can.

Carol singing

around the

Christmas tree

cancelled this

year

The Friends of Bamford would

like to let you know that the

Annual Carol Singing round the

Christmas tree which is usually

held on the last Saturday before

Christmas will not take place as it

would contravene several rules,

i.e. large gatherings, singing,

social distancing etc.

For the same reasons, as the rules

stand at the moment Friends of

Bamford are unfortunately unable

to plan any future Community

Events for 2021.

Bowed but not yet defeated,

the best we can do is wish all

members of the community

Seasons Greetings for Christmas

2020, with hopes for better times

to come in 2021.

Update from St Pauls,

St James and

St Michael’s, Bamford

As the days grow shorter and the nights

grow longer and we cuddle up on the sofa

with a brew, we look ahead to Advent and

the build up toward Christmas.

This year things are going to be different. We

may be tempted at times to let the darkness

take over as we feel robbed of our usual winter

festivities.

Looking at the calendar of familiar anticipated

events with a line through can be discouraging

but there are signs of hope all around us.

The Christian faith is one which proclaims, no

matter how dark the night, how unsure the

future, there is a light and a hope found in Jesus.

Our village church buildings are open every

week. We have midweek communion, a family

service and Sunday afternoon service (details at

www.rochdalenorthwest.org).

Our church community meets every Sunday

online to worship and pray for our villages and

the world.

In our gathering as a community we share

the good news of life and the hope of Jesus,

the light which the darkness of winter cannot

overcome.

Coming up is Remembrance Day. This is an

important time when we remember the darkness

was beaten back, and the heavy cost our

communities paid.

At the time of writing, it seems unlikely this

year we will gather by the war memorial to give

thanks for those who gave their all for our peace.

However, we will be marking the occasion

in a variety of ways following the advice and

inspiration of the British Legion and others.

Details of the services will be posted on

Facebook and our Benefice website.

If you would like to come to any of our

services please see the benefice website

We have also asked the local schools to get the children involved with making

Norden cleans up for Keep Britain

Tidy Great British September Clean

Approximately 30 volunteers gathered in Norden for

the annual Keep Britain Tidy Great British Clean on

Saturday 12th September.

The event was held to replace the annual Spring Clean, which

was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic earlier this year.

Volunteers from across the area met up and spread out in every

direction to tackle local litter hotspots. As well as the 45 or so

bags of litter collected, there were several car tyres and other

large items, even a discarded VW camper van roof box found. The

upturned box proved a useful container after being dragged into

position by Total Smart Solutions Breakdown & Recovery.

Rochdale Borough Council’s Environmental Management came

and removed the rubbish collected.

Local Keep Britain Tidy LitterHeroes ambassador Paul Ellison

said: “A big thanks for all the volunteers who gave up their time

to help and to H Bell & Sons, Total Smart Solutions and Rochdale

Environmental Services for their heavy lifting, and the council for

providing equipment and supporting the clean up.

“Norden’s looking great, let’s keep it tidy for the rest of the year

and beyond. It’s vital that we keep all of our beautiful borough

looking its best and removing as much

litter as we can, so that we can

enjoy all it has to offer, but

also so our wildlife can live

unharmed by our actions.”

Covid safety was paramount

throughout, with volunteers operating in

socially distanced bubbles and with PPE and

sanitiser used to ensure that everyone could

clean up in a safe manner.

IN THE GARDEN

GARDENING TIPS AND ADVICE

FOR NOVEMBER

1. Rake dead leaves off lawns as they can harbour fungal diseases and could cause bare

patches if left, because they deprive the lawn of air, light and water.

2. Plant up some new winter hanging baskets or containers using winter pansies, primroses

and trailing ivy.

3. Check that the tree stakes, fences and pergolas are secure and able to withstand

windy weather.

4. As long as the ground isn’t frozen, you can still plant hardy shrubs and roses. A wide range

of slightly cheaper bare root roses are available at this time of the year. Before planting,

earth up the soil around them.

5. Tidy straggly perennials by cutting them back and covering any that are

showing new shoots with a layer of bark chip or a compost mulch to

protect them from frosty weather.

6. Put all those fallen leaves to good use by making leaf mould, a nutritious

soil conditioner. It’s better than binning them or taking them to the tip!

Make you own simple cage with wooden stakes and some chicken wire

or a black bin liner with holes in it will make an easier alternative.

Your Ward Councillors are here all year round to offer help and advice on a wide range of local issues

This month we have had a special virtual meeting with the Save amford Greenbelt Group to

have a discussion with them on the GMSF. We were pleased to see our MP, Chirs Clarkson oin

us for this meeting to share some point of view on this important local issue.

With new tiers in place across the country we have been dealing with uestions around the

covid guidance. The new system seems to be far easier to understand and less confusing.

Complaining about the lack of dental treatment available we have had a number of comments

about the parking around Oulder Hill shops. We have asked for more traffic officers to attend

and make more regular patrols in the area to keep the problems in check.

With the recent heavy rain we have had a lot of calls about blocked gullies and grids and so we

have organised extensive cleaning and unblocking to help alleviate any issues.

We have also had a number of street signs cleaned around the ward.

We continue to work with our environmental officers to prevent flytipping around owkin ane

and clear it uickly when it does happen.

We are arranging meetings with highways about safety measures on the unction of och ally

way and Sandy ane. egular readers will know that this is something that we have been

working on for a long time but a report has now been done and we have asked for an urgent

meeting with Highways to move on to the next steps of this much needed work.

We also have provided some funding for the uniformed groups who meet at Springfield Park to

help them carry on activities with the children there. The park is also getting some new bee

hives, and extensive works to upgrade the play area, a facility which is really well used by local

families.

We were extremely pleased to see that the latest operation on the moors, to tackle off

people using the moors responsibly, but also the damage that it does to the peat

moorland, tracks and habitats. Thanks to GMP for their continued efforts with this

enforcement action.

We are pleased to report that with colder months coming we will be installing two new

grit bins in the ward and have been doing a check on existing ones - let us know if one

for the village and a replacement flag for the war memorial, which is looking a little worn.

ark nights are here and we have not been able to hold our usual community safety

event, so we ust wanted to remind everyone of the simple things that you can do to keep

safe, using light timers, locking doors and making sure that valuables and car keys are not

left on display are simple measures that can keep us all a bit safer at this time of year.

nfortunately, there can be no formal remembrance service at the War Memorial this

ovember, which is a huge shame because we always get such a great turnout. We will be

laying wreaths at a uite moment and putting up our street poppies, and the gardens of

course remain open for anyone to come and pay their respects privately.

Recollections of Bamford and its Heritage

PART 2

You may remember that local resident

Brian Clegg who has lived in the local

area all his life, kindly wrote Part 1 of

his ‘Recollections of Bamford’ in the

April issue. It was a fascinating insight

into the history of Bamford which dates

back to the 13th century.

Let us continue our journey through the

village of Bamford with an interesting story

about “Plumpton Hall”. This magnificent

house; built in the mid-19th century, is

situated in extensive grounds on the Bury

& Rochdale Old Road; overlooking Queens

Park and the River Roche.

It was on a Tuesday morning in February

1856 that two local labourers; John Leach

and James Clegg were excavating some

ground during the construction of the

Hall for a son of John Fenton; the 1st MP

for Rochdale, when they came across an

upright clay jar embedded in a mound

of soil. The other workmen were quite

uninterested in the find until one of them

knelt down for a closer examination; and

shouted “Why, it’s a pot full o’ brass!”

Dixon Fold, Bamford

There was about 4kg of coins in the

jar, as most of them were coated in the

green rust found on copper - only about

one in twenty was legible on both sides.

The coins came from the reigns of ten or

eleven Roman Emperors, dates covering

the thirty years from AD 258 to AD

282. This find sparked a little gold rush

among the men, who quickly grabbed

the jar and tried to shake the coins out,

but the dampness of the soil over fifteen

centuries had caused the coins to corrode

into a mass ‘the size of a football’, so the

workers smashed the jar open with their

spades.

When the ball of coins rolled out the

men again used their spades to break it

into smaller lumps before quickly filling

their pockets. Several hundred coins

disappeared in this way, before news of

the find reached John Fenton, who; as

owner of the land and Lord of the Manor,

was the legal owner. Roman coins had

also been found during construction

of Fenton’s “Crimble Hall”, so he was

already aware of the historical worth of

the hoard and called upon the men to

give back what they had taken, but by

that time many coins had gone. The men

claimed that they had given some away,

sold others for two pence each, or used

them to buy beer in local pubs. Despite

this, about 700 coins out of an estimated

original total of 1,000 were recovered.

Our journey now continues to the

village along Norden Road; known as

‘Wheelbarrow Lane’ in the 1800’s; which

ran from Bury & Rochdale Old Road up

to Bagslate Moor Road. At the bottom of

Norden Road you will find “Hazelhurst

Hall”; a large house built in 1871 by

James Fenton born at Crimble Hall in

1835; a son of John Fenton. James took

up residence at this house the following

year; presumably the house was named

after his wife Sarah Hazelhurst.

Next we come to Bamford Congregational

Chapel; better known now as Bamford

& Norden U.R.C. located at the junction

of Jowkin Lane with Norden Road. This

magnificent building; was built in 1801

on land; known as Butterworth Fold,

donated by Joseph and Ann Fenton

from their Bamford and Crimble Estates,

the chapel was enlarged in 1841 and

celebrated its bi-centenary in 2001. The

Fenton’s were a very influential family

contribution to the village would take too

children’s play-area, and to the front and

side of the Chapel there is a memorial

garden and burial ground. During the

1940’s/50’s the Chapel provided a very

important role in the life of the village;

holding a variety of social events; such

as pantomime’s, amateur dramatic

productions, social evenings and youth

clubs, they also had a pretty good football

team back in those days. (It was not

unusual at the time for parishioners to

attend Sunday School/Chapel up to three

times on a Sunday).

Bamford Congregational Chapel, Norden Road

Two of Joseph Fenton’s sons; John and

his brother James, taught at the Chapel in

its early days, and a man; later to become

Sir James Philips Kay-Shuttleworth, was

Sunday School Superintendent; who it is

said usually attended services wearing clogs

accompanied by ‘Crib’ his faithful dog.

The Chapel has quite extensive gardens

to the rear, designed for the spiritual and

physical benefit of its congregation; it

had a bowling green, tennis courts and

Queen’s Park Bridge from rear of St. Michaels

School

On Whit Friday in the 1940’/50’s

parishioners took part in ‘Whit Friday

Walks’, with St Michaels and Bamford

Wesleyans in procession around the

village and neighbouring districts; led

by a brass-band. Later they adjourned

to the Chapel for refreshments. In the

afternoon they would go onto the Whit

Friday field; situated behind Swallows

Farm for a social afternoon with the

brass-band providing music throughout

the afternoon, there were various races

for the children; with Savings Certificates

given as prizes, and also pony rides.

Progressing up Norden Road, we come

across Samuel Porritt and Sons mill, built

around 1866; later it became known as

Porritt and Spencer’s. This was a woollen

mill engaged in the carding, spinning and

weaving of a variety of woollen cloths;

mainly blankets for use in industry. The

mill had around 160 looms and was

demolished in the 1990’s and houses built

on the site and adjoining land.

Porritt’s Mill, from junction of War Office Rd,

Norden Rd

They also had Meadowcroft Fulling Mill;

on the bank of the River Roche, where

certain woollen goods would be finished.

Samuel Porritt; who lived at Crimble

Cottage, built two houses; “Chasewood”

and “Beechfield”; on Norden Road, for his

two eldest sons Joseph and Jonas.

Burns Tavern - public house, Norden Rd

Where Norden Road meets up with War

Office Road; just below the Grapes Hotel,

there used to be the ‘Burns Tavern’ public

house; owned by the Phoenix Brewery

of Heywood. This pub gave its name

for many years to the surrounding area,

and in the summer this was the bus

terminus for visitors from Manchester and

surrounding areas who would then make

their way across open fields to picnic by

the Naden Brook as is passes through

picturesque “Carr Wood”.

Here we must end this part of our

journey through Bamford, look out

for Part 3 in a later issue.

So, 2000 roundheads were mustered

in Rochdale to set up defences against

possible attacking forces from Yorkshire,

the town being only a day’s march away

from the Royalists. 800 men were sent

to the moors at Blackstone Edge on a

front line which had become the division

between the two armies regionally.

Tension in the area was on the rise by

1643 with Royalists as close as Halifax

and looking to attack Lancashire.

Streets in Rochdale were barricaded and

roads blocked with felled trees. Such

was the violence at the time that many

Parliamentarian supporters from Halifax

fled to Rochdale to avoid the pillaging

of Royalists troops under Sir Francis

Mackworth. In order to counter the

potential attack, there was in Rochdale

a defensive gathering in October of two

companies of roundheads commanded

by Colonel Bradshaw in addition to

volunteers from the Yorkshire refugees.

Meanwhile, two cannons were set

up and trenches dug on Blackstone

Edge under the supervision of Colonel

Rossworm, a German engineer who

was an expert at fortifications and had

worked on both sides of the conflict.

The expected attack took place on July

14th, an alarm being raised when 200

Royalists cavalry came over the moors

from Yorkshire to try to break through to

Rochdale and

Lancashire.

Not so much

a battle

occurred,

more a

skirmish,

but there

was fighting

with swords

and some

cannon fire.

The Royalist

cavalry found

the ground

too soft for their horses and fell foul of

the fortifications on the moors. It was

reported that a few men were killed and

many injured but the roundheads were

victorious and took prisoners back to

Rochdale.

Following this, and to ensure that the

area remained safe from attack, men

marched from Rochdale to Heptonstall

near Hebden Bridge, chosen as a good

defensive position and there engaged in

four months of siege and conflict, the

Royalists eventually being repulsed and

retreating to the north east and Hull.

Following the Battle of Heptonstall 35

Royalists were taken prisoner under

guard to Rochdale.

Ensuring a Healthy and

The shorter days and longer

nights of the waning year are

now upon us to add to the

challenges of day to day life in

our community. Its perhaps worth

repeating the seasonal security

messages:

• Make sure all entry points to your

property are secure, check locks and

replace where necessary.

• Inspect your boundaries make sure

fences are in good order and gates

are securely lockable.

• Check the functioning of intruder

alarms and security light, arrange

servicing and upgrades where

necessary.

• Place valuable items of gardening

equipment and ladders away from

prying eyes.

• Think about installing timers on

interior lights and a radio/television

so that you can appear in even when

you are not.

• Check security measures for your

vehicle(s)

• Consider joining your local Home

Watch Scheme - our Village has

several them which make an

important contribution to security

• Examine the possibility of using

What`s App and other social media

to create closed local groups for

mutual security and support.

• If you see something suspicious

or unusual which causes concern

report it to GMP via 101 or the GMP

website

This Autumn we face the additional

difficulty of dealing with the Covid1

pandemic and this is a suitable time

to revisit the benefits of living in a

small Community. uring the first

wave of Covid 1 illagers looked

to support their neighbours along

with the elderly and other vulnerable

Villagers, I very much hope that this

will continue with the new wave.

Look to support your friends and

neighbours in some simple ways

and at the same time, you may

also consider village life and the

environment. Here are some ideas.

• Look on Gov.uk for the latest

National Guidelines. Look at

Rochdale.gov.uk daily for the local

guidelines

• Think carefully about your proposed

schedule - does it involve an

element of additional risk to you

and others with whom you are likely

to come into contact? If there is an

added element of risk, find another

means to achieve your goals

• Try to ensure that you walk or cycle

to local destinations, as much as

possible. There are few of us who

will not benefit from additional

exercise and fresh air.

Secure Start to Winter

• Use local shops and businesses

as much as possible, this will not

only assist in keeping local people

in employment but will keep local

enterprises viable. We are fortunate

to have a vibrant Co-op at the heart

if our Village, which supports local

people and Village groups to a

significant etent. N members

make a great contribution to Village

life and it is appreciated when

residents reciprocate.

• If you do need to use your car,

please make sure that you park

considerately. Do not obstruct drives

and other access routes, avoid

parking where vision at junctions

may be inhibited. Please do not

double-park or park on pavements.

Do take advantage of the Village Car

Park, when visiting shops and other

businesses.

• Should you have cause to use

Council services please bear in mind

that a number of those services have

been impacted by Covid 1. Several

Officers are redeployed to support

the most vulnerable Townspeople.

any Officers are working from

home will all the difficulties which

that entails. Please be patient we

have a great cohort of Officers,

across the Council, who are doing

their best to maintain services and

standards.

• Our whole community is extremely

fortunate to have three experienced

Local Councillors committed to

assisting in finding solutions to local

issues. Please keep them informed

on matters they can help with.

• We can all assist by looking after

matters very local to home. Pick up

litter in your immediate vicinity.

Keep drain grids close to your

property clear of leaves and report

them to the Council if they become

choked.

• Use the advantage of working from

home as an opportunity for you,

and your family, to explore our

remarkable natural environment.

Go exploring the extensive local

Footpath and Rights of Way

network, visiting local Moorland for

physical exercise and “head space”.

I very much hope that all readers and

their families will find some elements

of the above useful in insuring a

healthy and secure start to the Winter

Season.

Anyone needing help and support

with local matters can contact me via

the Streetwise Office.

Keep Safe.
