On the outer surface of the
superstructure, a primer was rst applied
then a pink opaque material (Fig. 17) over
the ange areas (GUM colour) followed
by a dental shade in correspondence with
the facets and then cured for 90 seconds.
The anges have been characterised with
composite resin with the technique of
reverse stratication; on the inside of the
facets, a specic composite was used. Once
the flask is closed, the resin was mixed
system was kept at 50°C for 25 minutes at a
pressure of 2.5 bar. The prosthesis obtained
was finished with rotary instruments
mounted on a laboratory handpiece and
delivered to the clinician (Fig. 18-21).
Conclusion
The removable prosthesis with implant
and mucosal support is a solution that
combines aesthetics and the support for
the lip of a removable prosthesis with the
stability of a xed prosthesis over implants.
Furthermore, a greater ease in cleaning and
the absence of encumbrance of the palatal
ange gives comfort to the patient.
The execution of the simplied protocol
presented allows for a reduction of the
processing time without any loss of quality
and accuracy.
The use of low profile attachments
screwed directly into the bar without gluing
or welding, allows for an easy installation
and possible replacement, ensuring at the
same time an excellent retention within
small spaces. DA
