IDEM 2018 Takes Clinical
Excellence to the Next Level
The 10 th edition of the
International Dental
Exhibition and Meeting (IDEM)
successfully concluded after
three days of exhibition,
meetings, conference and insightful
discussions on the latest breakthroughs in
dental innovation and practices.
Co-organised by Koelnmesse and the
Singapore Dental Association, Asia Pacic’s
cornerstone event in dentistry drew 8,571
attendees from 71 countries. The exhibition
oor hosted 13 national pavilions and a total
of 506 exhibitors from 41 countries.
“We are proud of how IDEM has
developed since its inauguration 18 years
ago. The 10 th edition of IDEM once again
focused on integrating breakthrough
technologies into dental and biomaterial
sciences, as well as better care for patients.
Looking ahead, we will continue to provide
our audience with a world-class event
that is cutting-edge and contemporary.
This includes the further blending of
education, trade, and networking, and
full use of digital technologies to facilitate
maximum interactions between exhibitors
and visitors,” said Mr. Mathias Kuepper,
Managing Director, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd.
The exhibition oor featured the latest
innovations, including 3D printing, an
integrated blade that minimises the risk
of injuries during surgeries as well as
the latest range of intraoral scanners
that are ergonomic, portable and able
to provide real-time scanning with no
ongoing calibration requirements, which
are designed for patient comfort.

Highlights from the conference floor
included key sessions by Dr. Christopher Ho,
Dr. Sergio Piano and Dr. Anthony Mak.

Most of the exhibitor’s
booths were busy especially
those with their own
workshop sessions like
Shofu Dental. Dr. Anand Narvekar held
interactive sessions on ‘Mastering the Art
of Life-like Restorations’ wherein dentists
were able to use all Shofu products to feel
and use rst-hand the latest products from
the company.
“Basically, I use the Build-up System
by Shofu in making ceramics. Utilising
the four-side structure technique with
ceramics gives a very natural eect because
of its translucency. Additionally, Shofu
materials are easy to use and handle - like
the Beautil composites by just using two
shades making it simple to use. Moreover,
S h o f u r e c e n t l y i n t r o d u c e d t h e n e w
Beautil LS (Low Shrinkage) which has high
durability and polishing ability. They have
a wide range of products especially when
it comes to translucency – high value and
low value. And I believe that IDEM 2018 is a
great event to present the latest products
to the market, interact with my colleagues
a n d l e a r n f r o m t h e m a s w e l l , ” s a i d

IDEM 2018 exceeded expectations by
providing informative lectures, engaging
workshops and being well organised event.
The next edition of IDEM will
take place on 24 th – 26 th A p r i l 2 0 2 0 a t
Suntec Singapore Convention and
