No tobacco advertisements in, or sponsorship<br />
of, <strong>NCAA</strong> championships or regular-season<br />
events.<br />
Use of tobacco products is prohibited by all<br />
game personnel and all student-athletes in all<br />
sports during practice and competition.<br />
Permissible medical expenses are outlined. If<br />
expense is not on the list, refer to Bylaw<br />
16.12.1 for waiver procedure.<br />
Institution may cover expenses of counseling<br />
related to the treatment of eating disorders.<br />
Institution may cover or provide transportation<br />
to and from medical appointments.<br />
Institution may finance medical expenses for<br />
a prospect who sustains an injury while<br />
participating in nonmandatory summer<br />
conditioning activities that are conducted by<br />
an institution's strength and<br />
conditioning coach.<br />
Under certain circumstances, a student-athlete<br />
may be awarded an additional season of<br />
competition to compensate for a season that<br />
was not completed due to incapacitating<br />
injury or illness.<br />
Under certain circumstances, a student-athlete<br />
may be awarded an additional year of<br />
eligibility if he or she was unable to participate<br />
in intercollegiate athletics due to incapacitating<br />
physical or mental circumstances.<br />
The authorization/consent form shall be<br />
administered individually to each studentathlete<br />
by the athletics director or the athletics<br />
director's designee before the student-athlete's<br />
participation in intercollegiate athletics each<br />
academic year. Signing the authorization/<br />
consent shall be voluntary and is not required<br />
by the student-athlete's institution for medical<br />
treatment, payment for treatment, enrollment<br />
in a health plan or for any benefits (if<br />
applicable) and is not required for the studentathlete<br />
to be eligible to participate. Any<br />
signed authorization/consent forms shall be<br />
kept on file by the director of athletics.<br />
