Dear Valued Readers,<br />

Last February 22, 2020, <strong>The</strong> <strong>Luxury</strong> <strong>Network</strong> <strong>International</strong> Awards 2020 was successfully celebrated this year<br />

in awarding the world’s finest brands for their luxury products and exceptional services. We hosted this most<br />

sought-after annual occasion at the exquisite Mondrian Doha in Qatar, where the evening saw over 300 invited<br />

VIP delegates from the world’s leading brands, which gathered to be recognized on stage for their outstanding<br />

efforts.<br />

Through <strong>The</strong> <strong>Luxury</strong> <strong>Network</strong> Awards, all of the attendees were able to give back to the world through the fundraising<br />

drive for some philanthropic organizations such as the Qatar Cancer Society, our membership group’s<br />

chosen charity partner for this year’s awards.<br />

On behalf of our team, we congratulate all the award-winners of the year 2020,<br />

who through their immeasurable passion and pure hard work to deliver their topnotch<br />

services, have received those distinctions. <strong>The</strong> highlights and winners are<br />

– <strong>The</strong> ACH130 Aston Martin<br />

Edition, the first offering<br />

from the recently-announced<br />

partnership between Aston Martin<br />

Lagonda and Airbus Corporate<br />

Helicopters, was revealed today at<br />

Courchevel in the French Alps.<br />

This stylish special edition of the<br />

ACH130 helicopter comes equipped<br />

with a range of four interior and exterior<br />

designs generated by Aston<br />

Martin which will delight helicopter<br />

owners and pilots who appreciate<br />

the pleasures of possessing and<br />

driving high performance bespoke<br />

luxury cars.<br />

<strong>The</strong> aeronautical designers at Airbus<br />

Corporate Helicopters (ACH)<br />

and the automotive designers at<br />

Aston Martin have worked closely<br />

together for over a year, marrying<br />

ACH’s key values of excellence,<br />

quality and service with Aston<br />

Martin’s commitment to beauty,<br />

handcrafting and automotive art to<br />

bring a new level of aesthetics and<br />


igorous attention to detail to the<br />

helicopter market.<br />

Available in four external liveries<br />

with complementary interiors, the<br />

helicopters are embellished with<br />

Aston Martin signature elements,<br />

starting with the iconic Aston Martin<br />

wings, which are embossed onto<br />

luxury leather features, tastefully<br />

positioned throughout the cabin.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Stirling Green-themed external<br />

scheme, which is already flying<br />

on the first aircraft, features<br />

a painted gradient, which fades<br />

down into Jet Black on the underside<br />

of the helicopter with Skyfall<br />

Silver around the cowlings. Further<br />

external liveries are available with<br />

other Aston Martin paint colours<br />

including Xenon Grey, Arizona and<br />

Ultramarine Black.<br />


Inside, the automotive - inspired<br />

cabin, which offers a higher level<br />

of comfort, is trimmed in Pure<br />

Black ultra-suede with a palette of<br />

selectable leathers comprising Oxford<br />

Tan, Pure Black, Cormorant<br />

and Ivory. On the rear of the front<br />

seats the same brogue detailing<br />

that is found in a DB11 runs down<br />

the centre of the seat and the doors<br />

have been trimmed with leather<br />

to provide passengers with comfortable<br />

touch points during their<br />

flight. By using materials from the<br />

Aston Martin automotive palette<br />

the interior of this special edition<br />

of the ACH130 sits in harmony with<br />

the interior of Aston Martin sports<br />

cars.<br />

Each of these special edition helicopters<br />

will have a plaque included<br />

on the instrument panel which<br />

shows the partnership logos, the<br />

registration of the aircraft, the edition<br />

number and the owner’s name,<br />

should they wish to have it included.<br />

Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman,<br />

how to apply our principles to<br />

other areas of design, such as architecture,<br />

UK jukebox manufacturer, featuring<br />

intricate bird figures and images<br />

reminiscent of elements in the<br />

food halls.<br />

In response to the rising popularity<br />

of vinyl and love of classic design<br />

amongst their clientele, Harrods<br />

customers can now own the<br />

ultimate souvenir, an exclusively<br />

designed vinyl-playing jukebox.<br />

Brand new and entirely bespoke to<br />

the luxury brand, it features the famous<br />

bird images within the cabinet<br />

and is hand-made right here in<br />

the UK.<br />

Produced by Yorkshire-based<br />

Sound Leisure, which has specialised<br />

in manufacturing bespoke<br />

classic jukeboxes for over 40 years,<br />

each jukebox is hand built by master<br />

crafts men and women using<br />

traditional methods. Manufactured<br />

from high quality wood, each ply<br />


formed cabinet is hand polished<br />

and adorned with brushed gold effect<br />

aluminium decorative castings,<br />

LED illumination ensures that the<br />

colour of the lighting can be adjusted<br />

£14,500, holds 70 vinyl singles and<br />

and this limited-edition vinyl jukebox<br />

has the provenance to follow<br />

suit. <strong>The</strong> jukebox is now available<br />

from the AV department in Harrods.<br />

Caviar is full of myth and misconception,<br />

and most things that people<br />

believe they know about caviar<br />

are actually incorrect.<br />

Whilst caviar was discovered by the<br />

Persians in the 4th century,<br />

it is not before the<br />

14th century that caviar<br />

became a delicacy in Russia,<br />

and it is only later in<br />

the 19th century that it<br />

was finally found on the<br />

most exclusive tables all<br />

around Europe.<br />

Years of illegal poaching<br />

and overfishing of sturgeon,<br />

whose eggs are<br />

salted and cured to produce<br />

caviar, has pushed<br />

the twenty-seven sturgeon<br />

species to the brink<br />

of extinction. In 2008,<br />

CITES (the Convention on<br />

<strong>International</strong> Trade in Endangered<br />

Species) imposed a very<br />

strict worldwide ban on both commercial<br />

and recreational fishing of<br />

all wild sturgeon.<br />

<strong>The</strong>refore, nowadays, caviar is sustainably<br />

sourced from aquaculture<br />

and we count more than 300 sturgeon<br />

farms around the world primarily<br />

in the Northern Hemisphere.<br />

At Simon Johnson we import caviar<br />

in “Mother tins” or “Origin tins<br />

“weighing between 1 and 1.8 kilos<br />

into Australia. <strong>The</strong> caviar is then<br />

stored in Simon Johnson’s bespoke<br />

caviar facility at our Sydney warehouse<br />

in the ideal environment to<br />

mature each tin of caviar to perfection<br />

. At any given point, we will<br />

hold around 100 kilos of caviar in<br />

our cool room. From here, we carefully<br />

monitor the maturation of the<br />

caviar and pack each type of caviar<br />

to order. At present, we are the<br />

only company in Australia licensed<br />

to re-pack fresh caviar.<br />

<strong>The</strong> packing process is one very<br />

important step as it is the time<br />

where we will be able to assess the<br />

caviar and control the quality. Here<br />

we will be looking at the colour, the<br />

size of the roe, the flavour, and also<br />

its texture. All these criteria have<br />

to be taken into account at every<br />

repack.<br />

When it comes to eating<br />

caviar, we recommend<br />

people to have their first<br />

taste from the flat part<br />

of their hand, between<br />

thumb and forefinger,<br />

which we call “traditional<br />

caviar” tasting. Just like<br />

cheese this delicacy is<br />

best appreciated once it<br />

reaches room temperature<br />

as its defining notes<br />

would not be sensed if the<br />

fats in the caviar are too<br />

cold.<br />

After the first taste with<br />

the caviar warmed to<br />

blood temperature, you<br />

can the pair caviar with<br />


linis, crème fraiche and chives to<br />

keep it traditional, or go outside<br />

the line and try it on fried chicken<br />

skin or crispy gold potato chips.<br />

the Northern Rivers near Byron Bay, he spent the formative<br />

years of his career in Brisbane. Feeling the lure<br />

of London, he travelled to expand his knowledge and<br />

build his résumé.<br />

After a long stint at London’s prestigious Harvey Nichols’<br />

5th Floor Restaurant, Aaron turned to the private<br />

chef path. Employed by Lady Margaret Thatcher in her<br />

retirement years, he was privileged to serve the Queen<br />

on several occasions. He also cooked for many UK celebrities,<br />

among them Kate Moss and Keira Knightley.<br />

On his return to Australia, Aaron was welcomed into<br />

Égérie is also the modern interpretation of aesthetic codes cherished by<br />

Vacheron Constantin, which has been offering off-centre displays since the<br />

early 19th century, notably by playing on two intertwined circles. Égérie has<br />

made this its signature touch. <strong>The</strong> date or moon-phase integration is thus<br />

part of a subtle diagonal line formed by the Vacheron Constantin logo and<br />

the crown daringly taking its place between 1 and 2 o’clock. Depending on<br />

the model, the latter is adorned with a cabochon-cut moonstone or a rosecut<br />

diamond. This creative freedom is driven by a bold spirit that makes all<br />

the difference.<br />

<strong>The</strong> mischievous Égérie has a strong character and this elegant watch is<br />

firmly embedded in its era. A watch that is a daily companion and a confidante<br />

Égérie self-winding<br />

A watch for every day, for every evening, for every moment. Available<br />

in a self-winding version in 18K 5N rose gold or steel, this timepiece<br />

captures the spirit of the times.<br />

<strong>The</strong> 35 mm pebble-shaped case is crowned with a slender bezel overstitched<br />

with 58 diamonds. Extended by integrated lugs, it is punctuated<br />

between 1 and 2 o’clock by a crown adorned with a cabochon-cut<br />

moonstone, of which the soft shade melds flawlessly into the overall<br />

aesthetic. <strong>The</strong> dial sets the stage for a delicate opaline silver work of<br />

art inspired by the world of Haute Couture: composed of concentric<br />

circles, its centre and periphery are graced with a pleated pattern.<br />

Developed after several months of testing, this decoration was created<br />

in the Manufacture’s guillochage workshop using the historical<br />

“tapestry” technique. By dint of lengthy long and extremely subtle<br />

operations, the artisan adjusts the gears of a 1904 pantograph-type<br />

machine in order to reproduce a large format motif in a miniature<br />

version on the dial. <strong>The</strong> expertly wielded tip of the burin, regularly<br />

sharpened by the artisan, gives rise to the draped-effect motif of the<br />

Égérie dial. Specially designed for the collection, the calligraphic numerals<br />

evoke fine embroidery, while the leaf-type hours and minutes<br />

hands recall the fine needles used by the nimble fingers at work in<br />

Haute Couture ateliers. In a signature touch, the date appearing in<br />

a circle rimmed with diamonds draws on the tradition of Vacheron<br />

Constantin’s off-centre displays.<br />

A bold move for this versatile watch, escorted by three interchangeable<br />

leather straps for the 18K 5N pink gold version. <strong>The</strong> steel model<br />

is paired with a polished metal bracelet designed to ensure an extremely<br />

flowing look and feel. Both slim and graceful, it sits so incredibly<br />

lightly on the wrist, like a second skin, that the wearer can<br />

easily forget it is even there.<br />

Beating behind the scenes is the 1088 calibre. This in-house<br />

self-winding movement with its 40-hour power reserve endows the<br />

timepiece with a degree of autonomy perfectly suited to a modern<br />

lifestyle. Its sapphire crystal case-back reveals its Haute Horlogerie<br />

finishing: a hand-crafted Côtes de Genève motif as well as a delicately<br />

openwork 22K gold oscillating weight inspired by the shape of the<br />

Maltese cross.<br />


Égérie moon phase<br />

<strong>The</strong> night star is at the very heart of the Égérie moon phase model,<br />

which comes in a 37 mm case in 18K 5N rose gold or steel, with<br />

a diamond-set bezel. <strong>The</strong> stellar horological complication springs a<br />

surprise by appearing where it is least expected.<br />

An offset circle glittering with 36 diamonds displays a dreamlike vision<br />

of time, with the 18K gold moon appearing in a starry sky revealed<br />

behind clouds formed by a delicate mother-of-pearl assembly.<br />

<strong>The</strong> enchanting charm of this model is further enhanced by its opaline<br />

silver dial and pleated pattern, developed after several months<br />

of testing and achieved using the ancient ‘tapestry’ technique. This<br />

delicate process, performed using a machine dating from 1904 and<br />

operating on the principle of the pantograph, serves to reproduce a<br />

miniaturised engraving based on a large-sized motif. This complex<br />

and meticulous operation calls for the greatest dexterity on the part<br />

of the Vacheron Constantin guilloché artisan.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Égérie moon phase model is available in steel set with 58 diamonds,<br />

while the crown is graced with a cabochon-cut moonstone,<br />

a symbol of calm and serenity, contributing to a particularly modern<br />

and dynamic version fitted with a metal bracelet. Both light and slim,<br />

it nestles on the wrist like a second skin, to the point where one<br />

could easily forget it is even there. For a more chic, sophisticated<br />

look, the case of the Égérie moon phase also comes in an 18K 5N pink<br />

gold version, likewise fringed with 58 diamonds and featuring a cabochon<br />

As a new decade introduces a new era of luxury mobility, Bentley<br />

Motors has started customer deliveries of the all-new<br />

Flying Spur to their owners across Europe & the UK, with<br />

deliveries scheduled to begin in Eastern Markets, North America<br />
