A Massive Win
$5000 GRANT FOR VICTORIAN CPV
OPERATORS AND DRIVERS
This past month has been difficult for small business in Victoria, especially taxi and hire car operators.
Lockdowns are absolutely devastating for our industry and there is a significant financial struggle in
our community.
It was a sigh of relief to see the Victorian Government include the taxi and hire car industry in their
support package for businesses affected by the pandemic. Our industry was eligible for a $5000 grant
as part of the Business Costs Assistance Program. This is a massive win.
Since the onset of this latest lockdown, I had been advocating for the taxi and hire car industry to be
recognised in the government’s support
package.
I wrote to the Treasurer immediately urging
the Government to provide support to our
industry through this lockdown.
Then, I worked closely with the Treasurer
and his team to get this support off the
ground.
This is absolutely critical in
the pathway forward out of
this pandemic.
It speaks volumes that the Government is
prepared to recognise the suffering that is
being experienced in the industry and to do
something about it!

With JobKeeper no longer being provided
by the Commonwealth Government, many
did not know how they were going to put
food on the table during this last lockdown.
