Kenneth R. Null Sr., 79, of London died peacefully and ascended
to heaven on July 15, 2021, to once again join his beloved wife,
Betty, to dance the Texas Two-Step. He was born on Oct. 8, 1941,
at home in Kellys Creek, W.Va., to Marvin and Sarah (Pugh) Null.
Ken “Red” Null grew up on his family’s small farm alongside his
five brothers and sister.
In the early 1960s, Ken and his young bride, Betty, relocated to
London and worked with the Burks family at C&E Construction Co.
for 10 years until joining Ohio Edison. Ken’s love of adventure and
fearlessness made him “the best damn OE tree trimmer” and was
highlighted in many family stories.
During the 1970s, Ken transferred to the Ohio Edison London
Line Department. He spent many years as a lineman and “trouble
man” responding to emergency calls before retiring in 1999.
Ken was a man of immense passion at work and play. He enjoyed
fishing, hunting, sports, cooking, and his little buddy, Zoe, the dog,
whom he often proclaimed was smart enough to run for mayor of
London. Ken’s humor, orneriness, and hardworking personality will
be greatly missed by friends and family. However, we take great
solace knowing Ken is rejoicing with Jesus and his beloved Betty.
Maybe you’re graceful and like the finer things in life...
or maybe you’re bold and like to be where the action is.
We know that everybody is unique in their own special
way. So when it’s time for a tribute, we like to honor
special requests or do whatever we can to make the
service reflect the personal tastes of that special someone.
