Helpers Needed<br />
A Winstanley-based charity shop is looking for volunteers.<br />
The DEBRA shop on Winstanley Precinct helps fund<br />
research into Epidermolysis Bullosa, a group of painful<br />
genetic skin conditions that cause the skin to tear and<br />
blister at the slightest touch. People with EB have a faulty<br />
gene, which means the skin cannot bind together, so any<br />
trauma or friction can cause painful blisters.<br />
Volunteers are expected to sort through donations, stock<br />
shelves and serve customers. The shop opens from 9am-<br />
4.30pm six days a week, but any time you can donate<br />
would be appreciated. For more information, call 01942<br />

Sling Library<br />
If you have a new baby and you want help with how to<br />
wear a sling, or to hire one, pop down to Pipsqueaks Play<br />
Café in Orrell on Tuesday August 31 and get help from The<br />
Orrell Sling Library.<br />
Staff from the Warrington, <strong>Wigan</strong> and St Helens Sling<br />
Library will be at the playcentre from 10am-12pm with<br />
more than 200 slings and carriers to choose from. Booking<br />
is free for the general appointment slots but essential to<br />
ensure that they keep within occupancy figures.<br />
