THE MUSEUM OF
LIVERPOOL
The Museum of Liverpool explores the city’s contribution to the world
through its unique geography, history and culture, with more than 6,000
objects and interactives. In 2019 the Museum won a public vote in the Kids
in Museums’ Family Friendly Awards in the large museum category.
The Little Liverpool gallery is a hands-on fantasy world especially for children
under the age of six to play and learn. Inside the gallery our youngest visitors
can create their own Liverpool - a city where they are in charge.
The museum opens its much-loved Wondrous Place gallery in November.
The gallery explores the city’s roll call of entertainers, writers, poets,
performers, musicians, visual artists, comedians and sports people through
around 650 objects, interactives and immersive experiences.
Visitors can also marvel at the land transport collection, which includes
more than 200 vehicles ranging from Lion locomotive, built in 1838, to a
Range Rover Evoque from 2011.
No Liverpool museum would be complete without a nod to the Fab Four.
Our collections includes material chronicling the band’s careers from the
early days to solo projects after the band split up.
