Axis Leak Detection, Inc. (“ALDI”) uses Electronic Leak Detection (“ELD”) to detect the presence
and location of breaches or leaks in non-conductive roofing and waterproofing membranes
and coatings.
ELD is a quality control testing service using a water path to building ground to complete an
electrical circuit to locate system breaches. This allows for faster inspection compared to the
traditional flood testing that per ASTM requires 48 hours minimum. ELD testing is utilized on new
construction for quality assurance and once the building is occupied to troubleshoot existing
roofing, waterproofing and coating membranes that leak to find the point of intrusion.
Identification of breaches in new construction and occupied buildings allow for immediate repairs
thereby reducing further damage from water.
ELD is approved for use in various systems by roofing, waterproofing and coating manufacturers
and does not adversely affect manufacturers warranties. In fact, many manufacturers providing
longer term warranties require ELD testing. ALDI has the ability to respond to testing services with
2 to 3 days-notice and provide accurate and professional reports of findings within 5 business days
of testing.
