Welcome to our
October issue
This month we are pleased to welcome
a new update from Janet Pitman who is
the Reverend of St James’ Milnrow and
St Thomas’ Newhey so keep an eye out
in future issues for dates of services and
events taking place in the churches.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend, Milnrow held
the Milnrow Calling festival, with over a thousand
locals turning up to enjoy the live music, food
and drink stalls and tribute acts. Thanks to Andy
Kelly for providing a great write up of this event
and Alpha Photography for the fabulous photos.
A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY is 3rd September
2022 when next year’s festival will take place.
At 86, Milnrow resident, Gordon Aaron, is truly
inspirational and a local legend and on page 48
he writes about his involvement in the Milnrow
Library Walking Group whose walks feature in
the magazine every month. Along with numerous
charity walks and marathon runs, he is proof
that it’s never too late to improve your mind and
body! He even managed to squeeze in some
Streetwise delivery last year for which we are
incredibly grateful.
Until next month…
