Please pick up Membership Cards
We printed new membership cards with revised expiry dates for everyone!
Most people have already picked up their cards, but if you haven’t,
just drop by the Evergreen desk. Renewal dates were extended during the
shutdown - by over 17 months! For example, if your old membership
card shows an expiry date in August 2020, your five remaining months
became available to use in September 2021, so your new expiry date
jumps into February 2022.
Update from October 6 Board Meeting
We are pleased that our initial reopening allowed members to return as
soon as possible. The GWSA continues to refine its procedures so that
everyone can be actively involved in activities they enjoy.
Because current legislation prohibits organizations from keeping a record
of vaccination, members are now required to provide Ontario
Proof of Vaccination, along with government-issued identification and
contact tracing information each time they visit. As the GWSA is not
keeping proof of vaccination or collecting new waivers, IPP ACCESS
cards are no longer being issued and are not required.
At the entrance, every visitor is now to show their Ontario Proof of
Vaccination* and government-issued identification showing name and date of birth; provide contact tracing
information, including name, address, telephone, time of entry; and follow any required screening procedures.
* Acceptable Ontario Proof of Vaccination is your digital or paper Ontario Vaccination Receipt (2 doses
plus the 2 week waiting period) or the enhanced Ontario Vaccination Certificate (available after October
22).
Join Your Activity Groups
You need to register for all Activity Groups online at recenroll.ca, or
through any City Recreation desk including the Evergreen Centre.
Available activities are listed once their return-to-play plans have
been approved. In RecEnroll, go to Programs/Seniors/Guelph Wellington
Seniors Association and select Activity. Remember to update
your information. You can do that through RecEnroll/Edit.
You must be a GWSA member to register. To become a new GWSA
member, you can come into the Evergreen centre to register in person
or you can do so over the phone by calling the recreation line at 519-837-5699.
In-Person Activities
We remind everyone to stay true to the Return-to-Play plans that
were approved by the Board. That’s because we are bound by current
public health requirements and capacity limits. If in doubt,
contact the Program Committee Chair prior to implementing any
changes. We look forward to receiving plans from any groups
when they are ready to get started.
Participants are required to follow all current Public Health
Guidelines (which may include social distancing, adhering to
room capacity limits, wearing masks at all times when required,
using hand sanitizer, and quarantining or sanitizing shared materials
and equipment; or otherwise as the guidelines specify at the time). For activities not screened through
entering the facility, as with off-site groups, Activity Group Leaders are responsible to ensure that everyone
participating in their in-person GWSA activities meets all current screening, proof of vaccination, and contact
tracing requirements. It’s great to see everyone working together to take care of each other!
