This year, 65 kids will wake up in shelter on Christmas morning. While this can be hard on the kids, it's even harder on our moms and dads, who are doing their best to get back on their feet. Obituaries Elaine O’Shea Mavros, 75 1946 - 2021 LYNNFIELD - Doris “Dot” Nelson, age 93, passed away peacefully November 26, surrounded by family. Born in Lynn and raised in Saugus, Mrs. Nelson was the wife of the late James C. Nelson, the daughter of the late Arthur and Miriam (Metcalf) Urquhart, and the sister of the late Frederick C. Urquhart and Miriam Diamond. Doris was a devoted mother who raised her children in Lynnfield and later in life became a dedicated caregiver to her parents. Her life revolved around the people she loved most, her family. A graduate of Saugus High School, she worked at Village Pharmacy in Lynnfield and later as a data entry specialist with J.W. Daly in Peabody, retiring from there after 20 years. She loved watching the Red Sox, Celtics and tennis, and also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her children; Eric J. Nelson & his wife Mary Beth of Lynnfield, Lori E. Kotkowski & her husband Walter of Calabash, North Carolina, and James C. Nelson Jr. & his wife Karen of Rochester, New York, in addition to 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
