FESTIVE RECIPES
Spiced Party Nuts
Cheese Nibbles
INGREDIENTS
40g butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Sprinkle garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp cayenne pepper
350g mixed nuts
1 tsp coarse salt
METHOD
1. Heat oil and butter in a frying pan over a
medium heat.
2. Add all spices and mixed nuts.
3. Continue to cook stirring occasionally until
golden brown or transfer to a baking tray
and roast at 190C/ 170 fan or gas 5 for 15
to 20 minutes.
4. Cool and store for up to 1 month in an
airtight container.
INGREDIENTS
150g plain flour + pinch salt
100g butter
50g mature cheddar cheese grated
15g finely grated parmesan
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp water
Milk to glaze and 50g chopped walnuts
METHOD
1. Rub fat into flour to resemble breadcrumbs,
mix in cheeses and stir in egg yolk
and water to bind together.
2. Shape into a roll 2.5cm in diameter and
wrap in foil. Chill until firm.
3. Cut into 6mm slices and place on a baking
sheet. Brush with milk and sprinkle with
walnuts.
4. Bake at 200C/180 fan / Gas 6 for 15-20
minutes until pale golden in colour.
5. Cool and freeze or store in an airtight tin
for 2-3 days.
