O’DONOGHUE IN RUNNING<br />

FOR EPCR EUROPEAN<br />

PLAYER OF THE YEAR<br />

<strong>Munster</strong>’s Jack O’Donoghue is one of 15<br />

players in the running to capture one of the<br />

game’s most prestigious individual accolades<br />

following the announcement of the longlist of<br />

nominees for the 2022 EPCR European Player<br />

of the Year award.<br />

<strong>Munster</strong> <strong>Rugby</strong> are delighted to announce<br />

that the province has received a €300,000<br />

grant from the Government’s Sports Capital<br />

<strong>Programme</strong>. The funding will go towards the<br />

Musgrave Park floodlight project.<br />

The project will involve replacing the<br />

current floodlights with a state-of-the-art<br />

LED system, similar to what was recently<br />

installed in Thomond Park. CLICK HERE<br />

The new system will provide energy saving<br />

benefits and will contribute to <strong>Munster</strong><br />

<strong>Rugby</strong>’s sustainability and climate goals with<br />

the province recently signing up to the UN<br />

Climate Action Framework.<br />

O’Donoghue, who became the youngest<br />

<strong>Munster</strong> player to reach the 150-cap landmark<br />

for the province against Wasps, has scored<br />

two tries in three Champions Cup games so<br />

far this season. He was also named Player of<br />

the <strong>Match</strong> in the province’s 45-7 victory over<br />

Wasps at Thomond Park. The winner of the<br />

award, which is in its 12th season, will receive<br />

the Anthony Foley Memorial Trophy in<br />

memory of the former <strong>Munster</strong> <strong>Rugby</strong> Head<br />

Coach and captain.<br />

in the running to win a signed ball and a<br />

signed jersey courtesy of one of the Heineken<br />

Champions Cup finalist clubs.<br />

The Musgrave Park floodlight project will<br />

go out to tender next month with works<br />

expected to take place in the summer.<br />

This project follows on from previous<br />

investment in Musgrave Park including the<br />

installation of a modified 3G pitch in 2018<br />

and the construction of a new 3,500 seated<br />

stand and covered terrace in 2015.<br />

<strong>Munster</strong> <strong>Rugby</strong> would like to take this<br />
