Kayaking, canoeing and archery
The spectrum ranges from paddling fun with
canoes on dams and rivers to wild water rafting in
the Okertal. The well-known Okertalsperre is the largest
water reservoir in the Harz mountains. Here you
can take a round trip with the Okersee ship „MS
AquaMarin”. You can find the most demanding
whitewater stretch in Northern Germany -level
III-VI on the six-level scale- in the wild and romantic
Okertal (valley). It is located between the hydroelectric
power station and the Okertalsperre compensation
reservoir and runs over a length of 2 km. Please note

Archery
The 3D archery parcours near Clausthal-Zellerfeld
invites you on 3.5 km to explore the beautiful nature
of the Harz region and the traces of historic mining,
with water trenches and tunnels. 50 lovingly designed
destinations at 22 stations are waiting for you with
suitable offers for all ages!
Climbing
In the Harz you have options: you can climb on
sandstone rocks, on granite, on porphyrite (Illfeld), on
limestone or on greywacke rocks.
Granite rock, hornfels, and siliceous rock can also be
found, for example in the Okertal. Flex your muscles
on 160 m long ridges and up to 50 m high rock faces
and experience the Oberharz mountains from a slightly
different perspective.
The best-known climbing rocks that can be
climbed individually are the “Adlerklippen”
and the “Marienwand”. Both are easily accessible
via the B498. In Sankt Andreasberg you find one of the
highest high ropes courses at 720 metres. Test your
courage, skill and balanceon two floors!
