<strong>in</strong>dustrial design, graphic design,<br />

and draw<strong>in</strong>g he emigrated to<br />

the United States. Settl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Los<br />

Angeles he began draw<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

work<strong>in</strong>g with acrylics <strong>in</strong>spired by his<br />

favorite abstract artists<br />

and colorists. He then<br />

moved to Amsterdam<br />

and Barcellona where<br />

he cont<strong>in</strong>ued his study<br />

and work be<strong>in</strong>g close<br />

to the orig<strong>in</strong>al works<br />

of master artists such<br />

as Picasso, Van Gogh,<br />

and Miro. He also was<br />

able to see firsthand the<br />

work of the architect<br />

Antonio Goudy <strong>in</strong> Spa<strong>in</strong>.<br />

Mov<strong>in</strong>g back to L.A.<br />

He received a great<br />

response to his art from<br />

the L.A. art community<br />

and began sell<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />

various shows and<br />

through galleries.<br />

He was <strong>in</strong>trigued by art <strong>in</strong> the<br />

desert and <strong>in</strong> 2004 made a<br />

permanent move to <strong>Palm</strong> Spr<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

where he established his studio.<br />

He has sold to private collectors<br />

and to <strong>in</strong>terior designers who f<strong>in</strong>d<br />

his m<strong>in</strong>imalist and colorful art ideal<br />

for the mid-century decor for<br />

which they are creat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>teriors.<br />

Julio also started the Bazar Delar<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess through which he sells<br />

mid-century furniture and other<br />

collectible objects along with<br />

art for designers and the general<br />

public.<br />

Recently his art has evolved from<br />

<strong>in</strong>spiration he received from a visit<br />

to the anniversary of the Bel<strong>in</strong> Wall<br />

<strong>in</strong> Germany. He says this gave him<br />

a new twist on graffiti modernism.<br />
