SABAH RHINO PROJECT
Das SABAH RHINO PROJECT wurde zur Rettung der letzten
Sabah Nashörner auf Borneo ins Leben gerufen und
arbeitet im Sinne eines ganzheitlichen Ansatzes, um auch
den verbleibenden Tieflandregenwald – den ­Lebensraum
der Sabah Nashörner – zu schützen. Das Projekt wird gefördert
vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung
und ist eine Allianz aus kreativen Köpfen, Wissenschaftlern,
Zoos und Agenturen, gegründet vom Rhino & Forest
Fund, dem Zoo Leipzig, dem IZW Berlin und dan pearlman.
The SABAH RHINO PROJECT was founded to safe the
last sabah rhinos in Borneo and the lowland rainforest in
which they are habited. The project gets supported by
the federal ministry of education and research and it is
an alliance of creative minds, scientists, zoos, and agencies,
founded by Rhino & Forest Fund, Zoo Leipzig, IZW
Berlin, and dan pearlman.

Wir leben auf einem großartigen Planeten, dessen reiche
Natur das Leben von uns Menschen wie wir es kennen
und schätzen möglich gemacht hat. Doch dieser Reichtum
ist in Gefahr, denn mit dem fortschreitenden Verlust
von wilder, unberührter Natur geraten Klima und Biodiversität
immer stärker in Bedrängnis. Der Conservation
and Research Fund e. V. will einen Beitrag dazu leisten,
diesen Trend umzukehren. Die Mitglieder:innen entwickeln
wissenschafts basierte Natur- und Artenschutzkonzepte,
beispielsweise zur Renaturierung von gestörten oder zerstörten
Habitaten. Diese Blaupausen für evidenzbasierte
Maßnahmen gegen Klimawandel und Artensterben setzen
sie gemeinsam mit Partner:innen in die Tat um. Mit Bildungsund
Kommunikationsinitiativen tauschen sie Wissen aus
– über die Natur unseres Planeten und über Wege, sie zu
schützen.
We live on a great planet. Its rich nature has made possible
the life and civilisational achievements we know and
appreciate. But this wealth is in danger, because with the
progressive loss of wild, untouched nature, climate and
biodiversity are coming under increasing pressure. The
Conservation and Research Fund wants to contribute to
reversing this trend. Its members develop science-based
nature and species conservation concepts, for example
for the renaturation of disturbed or destroyed habitats.
Together with partners, they put these blueprints for
evidence-based measures against climate change and
species extinction into practice – in Germany, Europe
and worldwide. Through education and communication
initia tives, they disseminate knowledge about the nature
of our planet and ways to protect it.
