Erin offers podiatry services in Rangiora<br />
As aselfconfessed ‘‘shoe nerd’’, it was<br />
not surprisingthat Erin Blundell<br />
chose podiatry for acareer.<br />
Erin is from asmall country town,<br />
and chose aprofession thatdidn’t<br />
require her to liveinthe city.<br />
‘‘Thishas meant having to work<br />
acrossall scopes of podiatry from<br />
hospitalsworking with highrisk feet,<br />
to sportsmadtowns and paediatric<br />
issues,’’she says.<br />
Erin has been apodiatrist since<br />
2005, and in January 2020 opened her<br />
own business in Rangiora <strong>North</strong><br />
<strong>Canterbury</strong> Podiatry.<br />
Her roomsare upstairs in the Gables<br />
Arcade, wherethere is alift for<br />
clients.<br />
She is openMonday to Friday, with<br />
late night, and earlymorning<br />

Erin was borninKalbarri,north of<br />
Perth,inAustralia, and has worked<br />
acrossAustralia and New Zealandin<br />
country towns.<br />
She moved to the Waimakariri<br />
District in <strong>May</strong> 2010, and has two<br />
young daughters.<br />
Beforeopening her own business,<br />
Erin worked for podiatrists in<br />
Riccarton.<br />
She is War Veteran registered, as<br />
well as Pegasus Healthand Waitaha<br />

since establishing her business,she<br />
has been kept ‘‘pleasantly busy, but<br />
not so busy that most peoplecannot<br />
get an appointment within aweek’’.<br />
She is grateful for the support she<br />
has receivedsinceestablishing her<br />
business,and believesthe central<br />
location and parking accessibility of<br />
her clinic helpsmeether clients<br />
needs.<br />
The bestpart of her jobiswhen a<br />
‘‘simple fix’’ can createsuch big<br />
change in keeping people moving.<br />
‘‘That is very rewarding,’’Erin says.<br />
She stresses that onesizefits all<br />
advice is not the caseinpodiatry, such<br />
as toddlers are best barefoot in the<br />
house, but the opposite applies for<br />
people with heel pain.<br />
