42) Risk Management Policies<br />
The Central Risk Management department in the Controlling and Risk Management Division acts<br />
as a central and independent risk control unit as required by the Austrian Banking Act and sets<br />
up group guidelines for processes relating to risk management. This department aims at identifying<br />
and measuring all of the risks (market, credit and operational risks) existing throughout the<br />
<strong>Group</strong> based on Value-at-Risk, thus laying the foundation for risk-efficient capital allocation and<br />
earnings assessment.<br />
