OTHER INFORMATION Independent Audit: The City Charter requires an annual audit of the accounting financial records and transactions of all departments of the City. The City charter specifies that such audit be conducted by independent auditors selected by the City Council. Pattillo, Brown & Hill, L.L.P. was selected by the City Council to conduct this year’s audit. The independent auditor’s report on the basic financial statements is included in the financial section of this report. Certificate of Achievement: This is the ninth year the City has submitted the annual comprehensive financial report (“ACFR”) to the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) to be reviewed for the Certificate of Achievement. The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious national award that recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports. In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Annual Report, whose contents conform to program standards. The Annual Report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year. The City has received the Certificate of Achievement for the Fiscal Years 2012 - 2020. We believe the current report continues to conform to the Certificate of Achievement program requirements, and we are submitting the 2021 Annual Report to GFOA to determine its eligibility for another certificate. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The preparation of this report could not have been accomplished on a timely basis without the dedication and efficiency of the entire staff of the Finance Department.
