1.4 Definitions<br />
For all definitions and abbreviations used in this and related <strong>UTC</strong> documentation<br />
see the <strong>UTC</strong> Glossary of terms (reference 1.3.2(a)).<br />
However, throughout this document the convention has been applied that '<strong>System</strong>'<br />
means the <strong>UTC</strong> <strong>System</strong> and that 'system' applies to other things such as data<br />
transmission systems, computer operating systems etc.<br />
Please note that throughout the document a number of ranges, or specific values,<br />
are mentioned. The following convention has been used in order to simplify the<br />
text. Immediately after each value, or range, a special character string indicates<br />
the requirement for modifying the value. These strings, and their interpretation,<br />
are as follows:<br />
(U) the value is user configurable<br />
(B) the value is modifiable only by STC during system build, if a value<br />
different from the value specified in this document is required. This value<br />
is recorded in the Customer Requirements Specification, Reference<br />
1.3.1(a)<br />
(S) the value is configurable by STC<br />
(M) the value is not configurable.<br />
