and operated Hardwood, softwood
and exotic wood distributor. With
over 140 species of wood, Keim
purchases and markets approximately
9 million board feet annually
(in thickness of 4/4 through
16/4). Primary volume users for the
operation are Poplar, Red Oak and
Soft Maple.

Established as Keim Brothers by
Mose J. Keim and his brother John,
the original mill still sits at the bottom
of the hill by State Route 557 in
Charm, OH. The second generation
brought Mose’s son Roman Keim into
the business, who changed the name
to M.J. Keim and Son.
By the 1950’s the operation had expanded
to include a dry kiln, Hardwood
flooring and plywood facility, an office
and hardware store. Roman’s son Bill

1960’s.
In the 1980’s the company expanded to a 30,000
square-foot showroom with the current front building
being added. In 1993 Bill’s son Robbie Keim joined the
company and a 125,000 square-foot showroom was
added in 2007. Keim celebrated 100 years of business
in 2011 and 2019 brought the first non-family member to
serve as president, Jim Smucker.
