You may have seen Kathleen around
town on a street capturing a Palm
Springs landscape in her painting “alla
prima” technique capturing
the essence of a scene quickly and
energetically. Kathleen Strukoff has
been a painter from a young age.
Growing up in New Mexico she began
painting the light and colors in the New
Mexico vistas.
Often working in plein air style capturing
the shapes and colors of the scene in
a small painting which
Kathleen takes back
to her studio, or atelier
where she creates a
larger ;painting from
the smaller one done
on location. She uses
a combination of brush
and palette knife using
bold colors to express
her translation of a
scene. From an early
age, she fell in love with
the painting styles of
Van Gogh and Wayne
Thibaud using a thick
painting method. Thick
textural strokes are
evident in her work.
She identifies as a Modern Colorist

She is successful in capturing the
impression of weather, time of day, and
color radiance of the lighting of the
scene in her exuberant painting style.
Kathleen has exhibited work
in a variety of locations in galleries and
events across the United States. She will
have an exhibit of her work at the Palm
Springs Modernism show on February 17
at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

“Gently Down the Steam,” the new play from
“Bent” playwright Martin Sherman that examines
intergenerational relationships in the gay
community and the evolution of LGBT rights
within the last 50 years, will see its southern
california premiere February 17, 2023 at the Palm
Springs Cultural Center. The play had its world
premiere Off-Broadway at the Public Theater
in 2017, starring Tony Award winner Harvey
Fierstein. The Palm Springs production stars Terry
Ray, Daniel Bateman, and Justin Ledesma with
Steve Rosenbaum directing.
“Gently Down The Stream” reflects the triumphs
and heartbreaks of the entire length of the gay
rights movement, celebrating and mourning the
ghosts of the men and women who led the way
for equality, marriage and the right to dream.
After a popular December 2022 debut, The
Bent, is pleased to announce four additional
performances of THE LINCOLN DEBATE
by Terry Ray, the playwright of ELECTRICITY,
the record-breaking longest running play in Palm
Springs. Steve Rosenbaum will once again direct

For Armenians

a genocidal assault and ethnic cleansing
against the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)
and massacred 5,000+ indigenous Arme-

with high-priced lobbyists, publicists, bribed
journalists, and other spin doctors, have been
hard at work spreading lies, disinformation, and
Armenophobia worldwide. Artsakh, Armenia, or
the Armenian people can’t compete with Azerbaijan’s
unlimited budget funded by oil and gas or
Turkey’s NATO alliance and infiltration in various
world governments, including the White House
and the State Department.
Realizing the need to create an organization
that fights Azerbaijan and Turkey’s information
war for Armenians, I founded the Truth
And Accountability League (TAAL) two years
ago. TAAL is a 301©3 non-profit advocacy
organization that monitors and confronts lies,
bias, propaganda, and defamation of the Armenian
people at the level of media, including
social media, academics, intelligentsia, and
public policy.

releasing a statement about the anti-Armenian flyers
posted in the City of Beverly Hills and neighboring
areas on January 28, 2023.
Sent ‘Motherland’ documentary feature film’s
screener link and password for free viewing to all
members of the House of Representatives, Senate, European
Union delegates, Council of Europe delegates,
House of Lords, and House of Commons.
Worked with the City of West Hollywood
and Mayor Sepi Shyne to pass a resolution reaffirming
the City’s support for the people of Artsakh
and the imposition of sanctions and consequences
against Azerbaijan on January 23, 2023.
TAAL is for Armenians, what ADL is for the Jewish
community, and GLAAD is for the LGBTQ+
community. We combat lies, disinformation, propaganda,
anti-Armenian racism, Armenophobia,
and bullying around the globe.
My documentary feature film, ‘Motherland,’ was
made under the auspices of TAAL. ‘Motherland’
is an ‘Official Selection’ in (70) film festivals, has
won (38) awards, was shortlisted for Film Independent’s
‘Spirit Awards,’ and was Oscar-qualified and
available in The Academy’s ‘Screening Room.’
Collaborated with the Pan-Armenian National
Emergency Committee to organize demonstrations in
front of the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Los
Angeles and secure media coverage.
Collaborated with the American Armenian National
Security Institute.
Produced the celebrity public service announcement
(PSA), ‘I Stand with Artsakh & Armenia,’
with Kim Kardashian, Serj Tankian, Congressman
Adam Schiff, Ed Begley Jr., Sally Kirkland, Lawrence
Zarian, Andrea Martin, and several other stars.

of Artsakh. The resolution passed unanimously
on March 2, 2021.
Wrote and published an open letter to Senator
Dianne Feinstein regarding her deafening silence
following the invasion of Artsakh.
Confronted Emily Weisberg, the president of
the Burbank Democratic Club, regarding her disdain
for an appeal for support and disrespect of the
Burbank Armenian community in a long-form article.
Lobbied the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority
(ASA), the Committee of Advertising Practice
(CAP), and Transport for London (TFL) to
have Azerbaijan’s propaganda posters removed
from London subway stations. It was confirmed
on March 22, 2021.
Granted interviews to various media outlets and
publications regarding Artsakh, including the Los
Angeles Magazine, KUCI 88.9 FM ‘Ask A Leader,’
News of the World, Daily Kos, The Immigrant
Magazine’s TV program, Bionic Buzz, The Armenian
Mirror-Spectator, BEONDTV, Brave New
Hollywood, and was featured in Keghart’s ‘Heroes
and Villains 2022’ List.
Worked with Lindsay Carlson, president of
the Heart of LA Democratic Club, and Jon Katz, president
of the Santa Monica Democratic Club, to
issue statements supporting Artsakh and the Armenian
community.
Interviewed leading members of Congress, other
high-profile elected officials, and dignitaries
about the assault and put their support on record.
