We did not quite know what to expect but can assure you a real treat. In true Brafia style, Corne Bornman braved the heat of open flames where a whole pig cooked (or will that be braaied?) to perfection in the fire pit and chickens roasted over the flames in a chain cage. Dished up with salads, pap and relish and bread rolls, well, let’s just say, those guests who could handle seconds would most certainly have dished up again. To top a really good evening off, the Fire Factory added good live entertainment by Bacchus Nel. Oh, and let’s not forget they also offer a platform for local artists to exhibit their work. Riza Gene Botes and Jessica Hofmeyr Catch the thrill of racing season The Championships season kicked off with a bang at Turffontein Racecourse as 4Racing hosted the first race day of the season, Gauteng Guineas Day. The highly-anticipated race day lived up to expectations, with several close races that had punters and racegoers on their feet throughout the day. Guineas Day was the first of a series of five big race days set to take place as part of The Championships inaugural season over the next three months. And as per usual, patrons were dressed to the T for the occasion.
