ACRYLIC PAINTINGS
10-4 and Sundays from 12-4 at the
Desert Open Studios at 68895 Perez Rd in
Cathedral City Perez Art District.
Rishard will be showing 3 of his recent
acrylic paintings titled “Dancing
Flowers”, “Sharpened”, and one of
We are very favored to have an artist
with the creativity and versatility of
Richard Etts living in our community. He
has designed displays for numerous
events and businesses in New York
City in the past. Rishard also designed
and created furnishings, one of these
a sculptural lamp is featured in the
Smithsonian Institute Cooper Hewitt
Museum of Design. His works in bronze
sculptures are also fascinating and
thought provoking.
Richards has shown to be very prolific
in his present work in acrylic painting
completing several pieces in recent
years. His paintings are large, colorful,
happy and musical as he describes
them. You have the opportunity to see
his work in an upcoming show at the
Desert Open Studios of which Kathleen
Strukoff, (an artist featured in the last
issue), has offered him space for his
work at the March 3rd event. Following
events of this show will be on March
18-19 and March 25-26. Saturdays from
his studio in the photo here. He also
has prints available with some of his
work that are smaller than the original
paintings but with the same color
brilliance of the originals.
Three of his works,
a bronze, and two
paintings were
accepted into an
exhibit in April on
Perez Rd at the JJ
#THEDISH is gimmicky, overly
dramatic and wildly absurd,”
Barta explains. “Like all reality
shows, we blur the line between
fact and fiction, but what makes
#THEDISH different is that we
tip in the audience when we
do.”
Cynthia Beaumont and Adam Barta
Though highly exaggerated,
Barta confirms that many of the
scenes in #THEDISH actually
happened, including a fight
between Tan Mom and Mama
June over eighties's pop queen
Debbie Gibson. "The magic of
editing makes it all so much
more fun,” Barta adds.
In the new episodes, chaos
ensues as Youtube celeb
Cynthia Beaumont meets her
idol, Bravo-TV’s Andy Cohen;
Tan Mom is a no-show at an
important photo shoot; and
Mama June, Adam and the rest
of the sordid cast prepare for
the big Treasure Coast Pride
fest.
ACTOR & COMEDIAN JASON STUART
CELEBRATES A NEW MILESTONE! “If you break
the ground, can you walk on it?” is the question
actor and comedian Jason Stuart asks, as he
celebrates the 30th year anniversary of “coming
out” on the GERALDO SHOW in 1993.
He spoke the words “I’m gay, deal with it!” on
TV long before other stars like Ellen DeGeneres,
Ricky Martin, Wanda Sykes, Rosie O’Donnell,
and Matt Boomer joined him. He came out at
a time when there was no playbook on how
to be an openly gay artist in the US, much less
in Hollywood. The son of a Holocaust survivor
and a beautician, he created a successful career
in an industry where appearing to be gay
man was an invitation to the unemployment
line. However, Jason would not take no for an
answer - in fact, it made him work harder. His
father, a Jewish immigrant, always told him
(in a thick Polish accent), “When you go to the
interview, wear a tie and show them you mean
business”. Jason took that to mean ‘be your best
self’ - and that is what he strove to be.
Jason received the Indie Series Award for
Best Actor in a Comedy for the Amazon series
SMOTHERED in 2022, which he also co-created
with Mitch Hara. “When I heard the news that
I won, I was filled with emotions. As I grow
older, the idea of being acknowledged by my
peers means a great deal to me.” Season 2 will
be out in the Spring back on Amazon & Revry
with notably guest-stars Amanda Bearse, Jai
Rodriguez, Armand Fields, Aida Rodriguez,
Carol Ita White and Robert Costanzo to name a
few.
Soon after, he won the Worldwide Comedy
Award for BEST LGBTQ Comedian, and was
honored in the 100 OUT for the prestigious Out
Magazine. He will also be taping the LAUGH
PROUD Comedy special on July 1, 2023 for
filmmaker Quentin Lee.
