within <strong>Aartsen</strong>’<br />
A lot has changed in fruit and India since I started<br />
30 years ago. I remember, importing fruit wasn’t even<br />
allowed in 1999; this slowly started to change, and we<br />
began exploring with sending air shipments to India.<br />
This ambitious fire we felt in our stomaches made us<br />
into the strong company we are today. I recognize the<br />
same ambition within <strong>Aartsen</strong>. We learned from<br />
our mistakes, avoided pitfalls, adapted to change,<br />
cultivated partnerships on all six producing continents,<br />
and worked with the best of the best. As we grew, so<br />
did the market presence of our trading partners, with<br />
their brands soon becoming examples of consistent<br />
quality and high demand.<br />
Ambition is a core value of any progressive business,<br />
along with other good practices like integrity, honesty<br />
and sustainability, which form the foundation for<br />
growth. Gradual ambition is what I have seen most<br />
successful (fruit) businesses have. They have set<br />
high goalposts to match their purpose but then<br />
realistically corrected them to meet the needs of<br />
all stakeholders. We, as a company, believe in this<br />
tempered ambitious growth where our supplier’s<br />
and growers’ interests are taken care of, and our<br />
customers and consumers get the best and freshest<br />
produce. We actively chase new product lines<br />
and supply partners, but also keep expanding our<br />
distributor network and logistics reach, and this<br />
sustainable growth is the crux of our ambition.<br />
NGK hopes to keep growing and getting more<br />
powerful in years to come and do what is best<br />
for our trade partners as the market and product<br />
spectrum in India expands.<br />
