WITH SENTIENTSHAPES
Now, you know what the time is…writing time!
Let’s practice:
Step 1: Get that beautiful notebook and black pen (or notes app if that’s your style)
and let’s get to work! We always want to keep it simple with our topic. I was
thinking of highlighting the mind, the human brain, the conundrum of all
conundrums…THE BRAIN!!!
Step 2: Fill in the blanks! This is the fun part and where your personality and artistic
cadence can shine. Using your imagination and tapping in to your childlike
wonderment…fill in the blanks! There are no wrong answers. So, here I go: The
brain she goes so fast! She must be a sprinter or something, she got gold medals.
Pinky and the Brain “Are you pondering what I’m pondering?” Nothingness, a
black hole of…hold on, what was I saying again?
Step 3: *Hint Hint* it’s time to break down your brainstorming into some structure!
Use a unique approach to use the repetitive nature of Anaphora to your benefit.
Step 4: Yep, everything does indeed end. Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy you
wrote it! ;) Wrap up the overarching theme of your piece in the last few lines. It’s
your choice how you end the poem. Will you use Anaphora or will you only use it
in the beginning of your piece? Do something no one else can emulate and end it
with a zing!
