ROAR members have collaborated on the
latest exhibition, Curiosities. The pieces
on show include sculptures, paintings and
installations and, as the name suggests,
these will be unique and unconventional.
Discover the works of talented Rotherham
artists such as textile artist Amanda Daley,
who integrates fabric and embellishments
with recycled and repurposed objects to
express frustration with political and social
injustices. Fine artist Margaret Hall paints
local landscapes and story pictures, while
printmaker Kevan Cadman produces 2D and
3D artwork and music based on legends,
myths, and ancient folklore.
There will be a grand opening of the
exhibition on Saturday 13th May where visitors
can take part in workshops with the artists
throughout the day from 10am until 2pm.
Curiosities will then run until 2nd June where
the thirdspace gallery will be open for you to
drop in and view the artwork on display.

crafter with items to sell or
have a penchant for buying
unique, handmade gifts, why
not visit Rotherham Market’s
monthly Yorkshire Crafters and
Makers Market.
You’ll find a whole host of items that have been
sewn, crafted, grown or baked by individuals
and small businesses from across the region. All
lovingly handmade in Yorkshire, peruse everything
from hand-knitted babywear to doggy bandanas,
handmade bird boxes to dressed up wooden ducks.
The stalls along Effingham Street are always
bursting with one-of-a-kind items including
personalised cards, sweet hampers and faux flower
arrangements. Make sure you take home some of
the delicious cakes too.
If you’re an avid crafter or have started a business
making your own products, then you may be looking
for places to sell them. The monthly Yorkshire
Crafters and Makers Market is the perfect place to
start as stalls are just £7 per pitch which includes a
table and gazebo for the day.
