The £5.4m purpose-built Century
2 Business Hub opens this spring
in the vibrant business district at
Manvers, offering flexible, serviced
and managed workspaces for small
and medium enterprises.
Century 2 is the fifth business
hub to be launched by Rotherham
Investment and Development Office
(RiDO), the regeneration arm of
Rotherham Council. It follows on
from the success of RiDO’s first site,
Century Business Centre, just 100
metres away, which has been near
full capacity since it opened in 2000.
Like RiDO’s other business hubs,
Century 2 will provide office space,
workshop units, reception facilities,
and meeting areas. All occupants
will benefit from built-in business
support services, with a dedicated
team of advisors to call on.
But in a first for the town, Century
2 will also have two wet laboratory
units with isolated water supply,
corrosion resistant stainless steel
drainage, chemical resistant flooring
and wipeable wall coverings. This
innovative addition is the result of
growing demand to retain research
and development activity in
the region.
The variety in the units is
designed to accommodate a wide
range of purposes, with a view
to building a vibrant business
community in the coming months
and years.
Over the last two decades,
RiDO has supported more
than 850 businesses within its
workspaces with start-up advice
or business growth strategy. Their
five sites are positioned across
the borough, within quick and
easy access for anyone living in or
around Rotherham.
