Tea ‘n’ Tales is back at the Guelph Enabling Garden this summer, and it’s bigger and better than ever! Beginning on June 16 and continuing every Friday until September 8, the Friday morning performances will feature most of the tellers from 2022, along with some new faces and their stories. Each hour-long performance begins at 10:30 a.m. There will also be a Canada Day performance on Saturday, July 1, making the stories a great way to kick off the Rotary celebrations in the park. Then there will be three more Saturday family-themed sessions, “Under the Magic Ash”. Each of these will feature Robert Munsch, along with other tellers. While all 17 performances commence at 10:30 a.m., there will often be prelude entertainment from 10:00 a.m. Amongst those already committed to play is the beloved violinist Bridget Walsh, a banjo duet, a jazz trio, a local instrumental group, and an acapella group. So arrive early to secure a good spot and enjoy the music. Bring your own lawn chair and a mug for your free Planet Bean coffee or iced tea. As always, these performances are free, but donations are welcome to cover costs and assist in the programmes of the Guelph Enabling Garden and the Guelph Guild of Storytellers. If you wish to receive reminders, e-mail briahols@yahoo.com and you will receive weekly updates with bios of the upcoming tellers, as well as any other news. There will be a special storytelling performance by Guild members and their patron, Robert Munsch, at the Evergreen Centre, on Friday, June 9, to preview some of the highlights of the summer. The performance is free and will commence at 10:30 a.m. Other such performances will be at Guelph Lake Commons on June 2 and the Elliott on June 12. Please clip and save the bookmark. The program is on the reverse. 41 Tea ‘n’ Tales 2023 13 Friday mornings of delightful tales from storytellers near and far, beginning June 16. PLUS a Canada Day morning with James Gordon, Robert Munsch and friends. PLUS 3 special Saturday sessions, Under the Magic Ash, especially tailored for families. Please bring your lawn chair and mug for free coffee/iced tea. Arrive early and enjoy the occasional music of some of Guelph’s budding musicians.
