Beach Deodorant, £13 for 57g, a stickstyle
clear gel with odour-absorbing
charcoal, infused with coconut oil and
a luscious tropical, holiday-esque scent.
Others that I think are worth a swipe:
Malin+Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant,
a cooling stick deodorant which I like
because at £13 for 28g, it’s a useful
travel size (larger version also available).
It’s refreshingly camphoraceous, and if
you were looking for something to drop
a gentle-in-every-way hint to a male
in the household with a bit of a whiff
problem, this might be your best bet.
For those who like minty, tea tree-ish
scents (as I do), an enduring favourite
remains Aurelia London Botanical
Cream Deodorant, £19 for 50g, which
offers both of those ultra-fresh essential
oils. And if you’re going for a more
traditional roll-on format, I’d steer
you to Evolve Organic Beauty Pure
Prebiotic Roll On Deodorant, £11 for
50ml, made up of prebiotics that help
control odour, plus skin-soothing sage;
it’s subtly and airily scented with lemon.
You may also be lucky and find that
a favourite perfume is now available
as a spray, roll-on or stick deo.
Having emerged from a phase during
which beauty brands discontinued
countless body products, there’s been
a complete volte face, and now there’s
a joyous scented bodycare boom
going on – which just happens to
embrace underarms. Think: Chanel
No5 The Deodorant, £44 for 100ml;
Dior Miss Dior Deodorant, £43
for 100ml; Hermès Eau d’Orange
Verte Alcohol-Free Deodorant Stick,
£35 for 75ml; Clinique Aromatics
Elixir Anti-Perspirant Deodorant
Roll-On, £19 for 75ml, and there
are many others (just Google to
see if yours is now available in this
format). Blissfully, I even discovered
researching this that one of my most
beloved scents can now be enjoyed
in deo form, Guerlain Shalimar
Deodorant Spray, £52 for 100ml –
which is definitely going straight onto
next month’s birthday wishlist. (And
let me tell you, it’s the first time that
a deodorant has featured on that.)
Verily, we have entered the
age of the charmpit…
