Sew Good<br />
If you’re one of the many a sewist eagerly looking<br />
forward to the next instalment of the Great British<br />
Sewing Bee you can get your fabric fix at Farnham<br />
Maltings’ thread... a festival of textiles. This<br />
one-day festival on Sat 10th <strong>June</strong> celebrates its<br />
11th year with a curated marketplace featuring<br />
over 50 independent maker businesses<br />
spanning fabrics and textiles to patterns and<br />
haberdashery. Local fan favourites such as Pins<br />
& Needles, Thimble & Thrift, Fabrics Galore, Dovetailed<br />
London, Purple Stitches and The Maker’s Atelier will return alongside<br />
new exhibitors Ethel & Joan, Fabric Godmother, The Haberdasher Bee, The<br />
Specky Seamstress and WovenMairi, among others. The festival’s workshop<br />
offering includes an extensive array of 90-minute taster sessions on block<br />
printing, mixed media stitch, drawing with your sewing machine, off-loom<br />
weaving, and more. Tickets are £8 in advance (plus online booking fee) or<br />

Cherry Top Notes<br />
Join Vivace Chorus on 1st July at Holy Trinity, Guildford, for an evening of<br />
sacred music from some of the world’s most popular works – Handel’s Messiah,<br />
Mozart, Brahms, Faure and Verdi Requiems and Haydn’s Creation. The<br />
summer concert, supporting local children’s charity Cherry Trees, will also<br />
feature two of the anthems from the coronation of King Charles – Handel’s<br />
Zadok the Priest and Parry’s I was Glad. Tickets are £10 or £5 for students<br />

Little Birdy<br />
Join Greenfinch Midsummer Art Exhibition on 23rd to 25th <strong>June</strong> in the magical<br />
setting of King John’s Nursery to enjoy the stunning artwork and find out what<br />
Midsummer means to their featured artists from across Kent and Sussex. Renowned<br />
Landscape Architect Marian Boswall will give a talk on Saturday 2.30pm. Her book<br />
Sustainable Garden will be on sale over the weekend. Lunch and refreshments will<br />

REAR VIEW MIRROR<br />
Appledore Vintage Vehicle Rally parks up on Sunday<br />
16th July at Appledore Recreation Ground, bringing<br />
together a fantastic range of vintage vehicles including cars,<br />
motorcycles, buses and commercial vehicles from the early<br />
1900s to the modern day. The event has become a muchloved<br />
tradition for the local community and visitors alike.<br />
Expect a day filled with entertainment including arena<br />
events, auto-jumble, displays and refreshments, all while<br />
