Sew Good
If you’re one of the many a sewist eagerly looking
forward to the next instalment of the Great British
Sewing Bee you can get your fabric fix at Farnham
Maltings’ thread... a festival of textiles. This
one-day festival on Sat 10th June celebrates its
11th year with a curated marketplace featuring
over 50 independent maker businesses
spanning fabrics and textiles to patterns and
haberdashery. Local fan favourites such as Pins
& Needles, Thimble & Thrift, Fabrics Galore, Dovetailed
London, Purple Stitches and The Maker’s Atelier will return alongside
new exhibitors Ethel & Joan, Fabric Godmother, The Haberdasher Bee, The
Specky Seamstress and WovenMairi, among others. The festival’s workshop
offering includes an extensive array of 90-minute taster sessions on block
printing, mixed media stitch, drawing with your sewing machine, off-loom
weaving, and more. Tickets are £8 in advance (plus online booking fee) or

Cherry Top Notes
Join Vivace Chorus on 1st July at Holy Trinity, Guildford, for an evening of
sacred music from some of the world’s most popular works – Handel’s Messiah,
Mozart, Brahms, Faure and Verdi Requiems and Haydn’s Creation. The
summer concert, supporting local children’s charity Cherry Trees, will also
feature two of the anthems from the coronation of King Charles – Handel’s
Zadok the Priest and Parry’s I was Glad. Tickets are £10 or £5 for students

Little Birdy
Join Greenfinch Midsummer Art Exhibition on 23rd to 25th June in the magical
setting of King John’s Nursery to enjoy the stunning artwork and find out what
Midsummer means to their featured artists from across Kent and Sussex. Renowned
Landscape Architect Marian Boswall will give a talk on Saturday 2.30pm. Her book
Sustainable Garden will be on sale over the weekend. Lunch and refreshments will
be available in the café. There’s no entry fee, including to the gardens. Further

Appledore Vintage Vehicle Rally parks up on Sunday
16th July at Appledore Recreation Ground, bringing
together a fantastic range of vintage vehicles including cars,
motorcycles, buses and commercial vehicles from the early
1900s to the modern day. The event has become a muchloved
tradition for the local community and visitors alike.
Expect a day filled with entertainment including arena
events, auto-jumble, displays and refreshments, all while
admiring the stunning vehicles on display. Tickets are £5 for
