Hani Alrihani
Hani Alrihani died suddenly on
December 28, 2006. He was born
on September 15, 1955.
Mr. Alrihani lived in San Diego,
California. He owned a liquor store
in Carlsbad, and all his customers
loved him. He
was an honest,
hard-working
man who devoted
his life to his
wife and children.
His
biggest joys in
his life were his
kids. He loved
taking his sons
to San Diego
Padre baseball games, and was
teaching his daughter how to drive.
He loved to watch game shows with
his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Salwa
Alrihani, and children, Holly, Anthony
and Allen.
You taught all of us how to be a
better person, each in our own
ways, and always let us know we
had your support in everything and
anything we did. In return, we all
promise to love, care, and support
each other. We will do everything we
possibly can to make you proud of
us and I know you are looking down
from Heaven with a smile on your
face. No one can ever take your special
place in our hearts.
Manuel Kajy
Manuel Kajy, the son of Georgia Kajy
and the late Yalda Kajy was born on
January 6, 1947. He died on
November 12, 2006.
He and his wife, Khalida Kajy,
spent 30 years together not only as
husband and wife, but as best
friends. They had five children,
Marlin (Jill Konja) Kajy, Melvin,
Martin, Klaudia and Karleen. He was
blessed with two granddaughters
whom he truly adored, Madison and
Maegan, and a
third grandchild
on the way.
Ever since
Manuel was
young, he was
always a hard
worker, acquiring
different businesses.
Manuel
always put his
family first, from the time he was a son
up to the time he became a father of
his own family. Even during his illness,
Manuel put his family’s needs before
his own. Manuel loved being with his
family and always had family gettogethers
at his house. Whether it was
a holiday or an ordinary weekday,
Manuel loved being the host for his
brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and
his in-law’s families. His house as well
as his heart were open and always
extended to everyone. Whether someone
needed advice, help with some
trouble or just someone to talk to, he
was always there to help and was
always the one to turn to.
He is also survived by his siblings,
Gorgis (Tawitha) Kajy, Yousif
(Sundus) Kajy, Aniss (Athraa) Kajy,
Semri (Gorgis) Yaldo, Amira
Bachouwa and Wadia Kajy; his parents-in-law,
Gorgis and Basima Kajy;
and his siblings-in-law, Saad (Rita)
Kajy, Khalid (Noreen) Kajy, and Amil
(Crystal) Kajy.
Manuel Kajy was loved by many, and
will be missed by many but will always
hold a special spot in our hearts.
Salima Kasodish
Salima Kasodish, also known as
“Cute” by all her grandchildren, was
the daughter of Karim and Hannia
Farida. She married Matti Kasodish at
the age of 13 and had five beautiful
children. Born
on February 20,
1929, she died
on January 3,
2007.
In the early
1960s, Salima
became a widow
at the age of 29.
She struggled all
her life, not only
being a mother, but also a father figure
to her five children. In January 1967,
Salima brought her five children to the
United States for bigger and better
opportunities. Salima’s life was devoted
to her children and grandchildren.
She cherished the days when her children
and grandchildren would come
over and eat her famous pacha, chicken,
and corn with potatoes.
Many knew Salima for her gardening
in the summer, the cucumbers that
we were never allowed to cut unless
she was supervising, and the devotion
she had for the Lord Jesus Christ and
the Blessed Mother. Every Sunday for
many years she would always welcome
us all with open arms and
famous kisses, on the forehead, one
on each cheek, one on the nose and
one on the chin. She was a strong
woman who only asked for help when
she absolutely needed it.
Salima is survived by her children,
Clair (Alaa) Sharrak; Fahmi (Hana)
Awdish; Frank (Fadia) Awdish; Mike
(Raidah) Awdish and the late Fouad
Awdish. She is also survived by her
grandchildren, Sonia, Marvin, Tania,
Brian (Minna) Sharrak; Randy, Serena
(Jimmy Chammout), Rena (Ramis
Kouza), Ryan, Sarmad, Sean Awdish;
Madonnna, Crystal, Heather, Lauren
Awdish; Jennifer, Olivia Kashat,
Janelle, Matthew, Lisa (Ronnie Yaldo),
Christopher, Frank Jr., and Ashley
Awdish. In June 2006 Salima became
a great-grandmother to Isabella
Kouza.
Salima’s happiest days were spent
with her family, cooking and sewing
dyshdashas for her grandchildren.
Salima will be greatly missed by her
