Salim Toma Kassab
After 77 years
on this earth,
Salim Toma
Kassab was
called to his
heavenly home
on December
27, 2006.
Salim lived a
simple life with
his Christian
faith as the center
of his life followed by his family. He
always loved the grocery store business.
In fact, he purchased his first
store at the age of 18, in the small village
of Beiji, Iraq, followed by a general
store in Baghdad. After immigrating
to United States in 1973, he purchased
a store in Royal Oak in 1982. His last
business was a small store in an office
building in Farmington Hills.
Salim believed that working was
medicine for the body. He finally retired
at the age of 72. During his retirement,
he had the time to attend and serve the
daily mass at St. Thomas Chaldean
Church. He was very proud of his kids,
as many of them fulfilled his dream of
having them obtain college degrees.
His three sons went on to become a
lawyer, a doctor and an accountant. He
adored all of his 19 grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Amira
(Oram); his three sons, Burt (Manal),
Safa (Bonnie) and Mark (Heidi); and
his three daughters, Bushra (Jalal)
Brikho, Raja (Nahil) Kassab and Linda
(Jenan) Bahoura. He will be deeply
missed by everyone.

Huda Sattam
Savaya died
suddenly on
December 10,
2006, at the age
of 47. Huda’s
death left everyone
in shock.
While at a party
dancing with her
daughters, she
had a massive
heart attack and died.
Huda and her family came to
America two years ago looking to start
a new life and forget about the life they
had in Iraq. She was a beautiful, loving
wife, daughter, sister, aunt and best
friend.
She is survived by her mother, Afifa
Sattam; husband, Manuel Savaya; son,
Manhal Savaya; daughters, Miriam and
Farah; brothers, Essam (Wigdan)
Sattam, Wisam (Samar) Sattam, Yousif
(Maysa) Sattam; and her sisters, Eman
(Alfred) Kirma, Nagham and Fatin. She
also had 20 nieces and nephews.
We love you Huda and we know
you are in Heaven with your father.
