Charity: The Grosse Point War Memorial
is hosting their first annual Art
and Antiques show on November 2
from 6:00 to 11:00 pm. The show will
run through November 5, with a preview
party and strolling dinner crafted
by Chef Frank Turner on the first day.
Tickets for the first day include general
admission Friday through Sunday,
dinner, cocktails, appetizers, and desserts
raffle drawing. Tickets are $190.

Music: Joins us at Cranbrook House
for The Keys of Cranbrook: A Dueling
Piano Concert from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
Pierre Fracalanza will take to the Cranbrook
House 1929 Steinway Concert
Grand Model D piano accompanied
by a Steinway Spirio player piano to
delight guests with a varying selection
of songs. The piano concert will
cover nearly a century’s worth of music,
complemented with a visual representation.

Charity: Join more than 300 young
professionals and philanthropic leaders
from all around Detroit in the fight
against cancer at the Skyline Soiree.
The Skyline Soiree will be held at Waterview
Loft at Port Detroit. Hosted by
Lear and benefiting the American Cancer
Society, the Skyline Soiree will offer

Musical: For the 36th year in a row, the
holiday classic, A Christmas Carol will
be captivating audiences with the story
of Scrooge and the ghosts that haunt

Faith: Join us for Under God’s Wings
on November 15 from 6:30 to 8:30
pm. Under God’s Wings is a parent’s
program presented by the St. Thomas
Chaldean Church. Each month, parents
gather to discuss a different topic.
The purpose is to educate, inform and
provide the resources needed to build
stronger Catholic families. This month’s
topic of discussion is drug awareness
and prevention presented by Dr. Lindsay
Najor. There will also be a personal
testimony from a community member.

Charity: In celebration of their 50th anniversary,
the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation
is hosting an Evening at the Movies
at Emagine Theaters. The event will begin
at 6:30 pm. The 2017 honoree will
be Iris Yellen, for her many years of dedication
to the Michigan chapter of the
foundation. Ernesto Drelichman, M.D.,
colon and rectal surgeon, will be the
2017 Rosenthal Award Winner. Sheldon
Yellen, CEO of Belfor Holdings Inc., will
serve as the event speaker. The event
will feature a silent auction and strolling

Social: Presented by the Ford Motor
Company, Hob Nobble Gobble will be
hosted at Ford Field from 6:30 to 10:30
pm. Guests can enjoy a black-tie evening
featuring a Carnival Midway with
rides and games, cuisine and live entertainment
from end zone to end zone
for all ages. Attendees will enjoy special
performances from headlining acts, the
famous Parade of Stars featuring dancing
elves and the sounds of the All City
Marching Band and Santa Claus. Hob

The Parade Company which produces

Charity: Join the Our Lady Star of the
Sea Parish at 6:30 pm for an evening of
beer and wine tasting, food sampling,
and jazz. For five years, the parish has
hosted this event, which offers attendees
the opportunity to taste a variety of
foods and desserts from local restaurants,
clubs, caterers, and bakeries.
Several select wines, both red and
white, and a selection of beers will be
available for tasting. Guests will be entertained
by the Chris Codish Trio. A
cash bar will be available for guests 21
and over. Tickets are $35 in advance

Charity: Join us for the ninth annual
Dancing with the Detroit Stars at the
Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, hosted
by South Oakland Shelter. Metro Detroiters
will pair up with professional
dancers from the Arthur Murray Dance
Studio for a celebrity dance competition.
This premier event is filled with
dancing, music, a strolling dinner,
cocktails, and a silent auction. The
proceeds from the event benefit the
homeless men, women, and children
in our community who are served by
South Oakland Shelter. Reserve your

Friday, November 24
Fundraiser: Join us for the third annual
helpiraq.org fundraiser. The fundraiser
will be taking place on Black Friday
at the Shenandoah Country Club in
West Bloomfield. Every month for the
past 3 years, MERCI has been sending
an average of $30,000 to Iraq to help
makeshift clinics. Over 150,000 Christians
and many other minorities were
displaced from their homes, so they did
not have access to any healthcare or
their monthly medication. With the help
of volunteer healthcare professionals
here and Iraq who have stepped up
and try to fill the void, these makeshift
clinics are successfully providing care
to our displaced Christians and those
in need.
One of our main fundraisers that
contributes to the clinics is the Helpiraq
Black Friday event. This event typically
raises 20% to 30% of the funds
needed for the year. The last 2 years
this event has sold out with over 700. A
table of 10 is $1,000 or $125 per ticket.
Sponsorship opportunities include
$2,500 for a table of 10, $1,000 for 4
tickets, or $500 for 2 tickets. For more
