Background & Education
Jim Ovia, born on
November 4, 1951, hails from the
enchanting town of Agbor in
Delta State, Nigeria. Coming
from a humble background,
he experienced the joys and
challenges of growing up in
a close-knit community. As a
young lad, Jim’s curious mind
sparked an early fascination
with the world of business,
igniting a burning desire within
him.
During his formative years,
Jim attended the Ika Grammar
School in Agbor, where he
eagerly soaked up knowledge
like a sponge, driven by an
insatiable thirst for learning.
Education forms the bedrock
of any great mind, and Ovia’s
academic achievements serve
as a testament to his thirst for
knowledge.
With a Master’s degree
in Business Administration
from the University of
Louisiana, Monroe, and a
Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration from Southern
University, Baton Rouge (both in
the United States of America),
Ovia laid a solid foundation for
his future endeavours. Notably,
he also boasts the distinction
of being an alumnus of Harvard
Business School, where he
undoubtedly sharpened his
strategic acumen.
Family
Jim Ovia is not only a
trail-blazer in the business
world but also a dedicated
family man. He is happily
married to Kay Ovia, an
accomplished individual in
Jim Ovia with his wife Kay
