The Commonwealth
Scholarships scheme
is targeted at students
across the Commonwealth
who might not be able to
afford to go to university
in the UK. Through the
funding of postgraduate
studies across various
types of study, the program
assists in fostering the next
generation of leaders and
innovators.
This award has been
a landmark in the history
of the primary scheme of
scholarship in the United
Kingdom designed to
support British global
development objectives.
It’s designed to bring top
students to UK universities
while also helping to
promote sustainable
development abroad.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the
Commonwealth Scholarship,
you must be either a
permanent or citizen of a
Commonwealth country. It
is still possible to apply for
the scholarship if you are an
asylum seeker or a Britishprotected
person.
Additionally, you must
have an undergraduate
honors degree that is
at the very least upper
second-class (2:1). If you
plan to pursue the path of
a Ph.D., then you’ll need an
appropriate master’s level
degree.
In addition, you should be
financially unable to attend
university in the UK without
an award of a scholarship.
