Villa de Moya
The Costa Norte Festival celebrates its
10th Anniversary with a wide array of activities
Summer in Villa de Moya is a truly warming experience.
Proceedings start with the San Antonio festivities
and end with the Costa Norte Festival, held
every year on the last weekend of September. It is
a highly attractive proposition for locals and visitors
with concerts, a craft and commercial fair, leisure
activities with a Surfing Technification Clinic, a waterline
exhibition and a foam party, among many
other activities, all of which have dates marked in for
their celebration.
The Costa Norte Festival transforms the coast of Villa
de Moya into a proper fiesta site. The event this
year will be a special one to coincide with the celebration
of its 10th Anniversary, a date for our calendars,
and seeks to celebrate this milestone in style.
The 30th of September will kick off with a day full of
music and activities for the whole family, with Sunday
the 1st of October being the morning when the
workshops will take centre stage along with more
music.
“The Costa Norte Festival is a benchmark event in
our municipality and we are already working hard
to get everything in place so that we can repeat the
success of the last edition. It is one of our most eagerly
awaited events and we have to ensure that it
continues to be attractive and a point of reference",
says the mayor of Moya, Raúl Afonso. These words
are echoed by the councillor for youth services, Octavio
Suárez, who says "every year is a challenge for
us and on this occasion, an added challenge. With
the celebration of this 10th anniversary, we will show
that it is a fully established festival but we have to
keep looking to innovate and to provide a surprise
or two for the fiesta-goers”.
The Costa Norte Festival lends the coast of Villa de
Moya a truly festive feel. They include two intense
days of music, workshops and plenty of fun for
young and old. Last year there were salsa and bachata
workshops, children's workshops, Cross Fit classes,
as well as a craft and trade fair to offer a different
kind of product to all fiesta-goers. The concerts are
the main protagonists and feature top artists such
as Los Lola and Los Salvapantallas, among others.
El Pagador will be the setting for the most eagerly
awaited date on the summer calendar on 30th September
and 1st October. Good music will be the order
of the day and will be accompanied by activities
to provide an unforgettable experience.
