Campaigners have expressed
anger at the state that Lady Cory
Field has been left in following
work on the new Velindre Cancer
Centre.
The Save the Northern Meadows
group posted images to social
media to highlight the damage
done to the area. The new facility is
expected to admit its first patients
in 2025.
Hailey Park
campaigners
lose legal bid
Campaigners in Llandaff North
have lost their legal challenge to
a sewage pumping station being
built in Hailey Park.
The Llandaff North Residents’
Association had argued the correct
planning process had not been
carried out for the development at
Hailey Park in Llandaff North.
But in July, His Honour Judge
Jarman KC ruled that the Council's
planning report was not materially
misleading. Welsh Water said
the sewage pumping station is
needed to deal with the excess
sewage from the Plasdŵr housing
development in north west Cardiff.

Leading Welsh law firm Harding
Evans, which has an office on
Merthyr Road in Whitchurch, is
lending its support as kit sponsor
for Llandaff RFC’s under 9’s team.
The firm, which offers a range of
legal services to both businesses
and individuals, is helping the club
with financial support to enable the
club to supply the whole team with
a kit for the season.

Llandaff RFC, said:
“We are so grateful to Harding
Evans Solicitors for throwing their
support behind us this season. The
boys love their new kit and can’t
wait to start playing in it.”

primary school shines in Estyn report

Cardiff chiropractor The
Whitchurch Clinic is showing
their support for Whitchurch
Heath Cricket Club, as they join
their team of lead sponsors this
season.
The clinic, offering a wide range
of therapies such as shockwave
therapy, chiropractic clinic and
clinical pilates, will be providing
financial help to guide the club
to another successful year, whilst
offering a 10% discount for club
members on all visits.
Ysgol Glan Ceubal, a Welsh medium
primary school in Llandaff North,
has been described as a welcoming
and compassionate community that
values the well-being of its students
above all else by a government
department.
In a report published by Estyn,
inspectors highlighted the school's
dedication to inclusivity and the
attention paid to individuals, as staff
collaborate to identify the unique
needs of each pupil.
In their report, Estyn stated that:
"Pupils treat each other and adults
with respect and courtesy, which
support most to behave well. They
have positive attitudes to learning
and make sound progress from
their starting points. Those who are
latecomers to the Welsh language
make sound progress in the
language and gain confidence and
enjoyment in it following a period in
the immersion unit."
The school champions the use
of the Welsh language across all
aspects, empowering students to
use their language skills confidently
in various contexts.
