Three Museums: Uxmal, Valladolid, Playa del Carmen<br />
Three Unique and Different Experiences<br />
Choco-Story Uxmal was the first one to open its doors, it is located in the<br />
former Hacienda Uxmal, 40 min from the city of Mérida right at the entrance<br />
to Uxmal Archaeological site.<br />
Choco-Story Uxmal is an interactive museum. It places its visitors as<br />
protagonists, moving away from all conventionality. Each of 6 permanent<br />
rooms represents an important aspect in the history of cocoa, a timeline from<br />
fruit to chocolate today.<br />
The tour includes a tasting of Chokoj Ha, a traditional Mayan drink based on<br />
cocoa and made at the moment with rich spices and a ceremony in honor of the<br />
Mayan Rain God Chac.<br />
On the museum journey, a tour takes visitors through lush botanical gardens<br />
with cocoa trees, an UMA animal shelter, with endemic fauna that has been rescued,<br />
a stingless bee meliponario and a kids’ playground. You can even become<br />
a chocolatier for a day!<br />
